I thought I was the only one that liked the jdm rear molding with no side reflectors/marker? I'm sure it's "illegal" but it's not like the cops would pull you over for noticing them gone. It's looks a lot better imo too. Do it!
For me, I have more problems to worry about than the rear side markers being gone... ricer RE A. wing & diffusr, big rice-flashy/bling wheels with a048s, titanium fart pipe, lowered like a ****, etc. That's IF it was on the streets.

Take it off. Noone would know if it was a clean job. I know that in New York you can even shave your third brake light and its legal. I have taken off the third brake light my 2002 kia rio before it got totaled.. and never got in trouble. My neighbors a cop and he's the one that told me "As long as you have two brake lights and they are working its legal. If you have any blown bulbs its illegal"

No What I mean is you have to completely remove it to where it Doesn't exist no more. Just like old old cars only have two. Theres no law that you need three brake lights. They don't make older cars put three lights on their cars.

LOL your wrong buddy, I work VERY close with a automotive manufacturer so I know the DOT laws fairly well. If you can remove lights legally, where does it stop? You need to do some more research, just because the cops dont enforce the law, doesnt mean it isnt on the books. It is the same reason jsec's have clear headlights and USDM do not. THE DOT HAS SAFETY STANDARDS, IN THE 80'S THE DOT REQUIRED OEMS TO HAVE A 3RD BRAKE LIGHT. Just like they made seatbelts manditory in 1965. As the cars get newer the DOT requires more safety, like airbags, then they added pass seat sensors for smaller framed pass. and kids.

lol, nice argument.
no **** its illegal to remove them, especially the 3rd brake light.
will any cop hassle you for it or even notice?
maybe not, maybe so, who knows.
can you get your car inspected if you remove any of them?
sure, its part of the visual inspection and many shop guys wouldnt even notice or care... its still illegal but you can do it, just like you can stab someone but thats usually illegal too.
