We should like all get our cars in one place sometime this spring.
Anyone got thoughts on that?

 

I have a friend with a shop in Blaine and he is willing to host an event anytime on a Saturday.

It's around 95th and Central ave ne.

If there is enoug interest let me know and I'll set it up.

Would he be willing to let a couple of us do some burnouts or is it not that kind of shop?
Been a while since i did a proper burnout. I might just push it out and smoke up my back yard just to **** the neighbors off.

The shop is over by TNT and they have been know to build drag cars. My brother's 572 Hemi Dart(917bhp) front end was built there along with his son's 87 RX-7 V8 NOS back end. I've seen burn out strip by that shop.

A friend of mine - Jered(1000whp 3-rotor FD) and I go to Porky's on Friday and Saturday nights alot in the summer.

The Mazda local club goes to Porky's on Wednesday nights at 6:00pm. Mostly Speed 3s and Speed 6s with some Miata and once in awhile RX-7. I show up about twice a year. Maybe more this year. They always seem to like it when RX-7s show up.

Maybe pick a day this summer and all show up some Wednesday night at Porky's.

I'm sure Jered and I would attend.

Here's another place we go when weather is good. 1st Saturday of the month tons of cars meet from 8:00AM to 11:00AM.

Im down add 2 more FD's, dont see to many hear in Minnesota. would luv to see that 3-rotor 1000hp, bet it sounds amazing!

 

Jered and my car are E85 cars. He's trying for 1000whp and I'm trying for 680whp this spring.

Damn that turbo looks like it barely fits in there, i bet that thing is a BEAST!

luv94rx7 what kind of turbo kit do you have? I was thinking of going single down the line, but got a thing for the BNR's right now. gb is soooo tempting!

 

Jered's is a GT4718 and mine is a custom GT4202R.

I have a T04R turbo kit I replaced and that is for sale. That is good for about 560whp.

Ken, how quick does your car spool now compared to the T04R, and if you dont mind me asking what made you wanna switch to the current kit? Sorry if Im geting off topic of the MN gatherings.

 

I wanted to see how much power I could get out of a 2-rotor. I'll never use it so it is probably a dumb idea, especially when I'm retired and living on Social Security.

how is your current setup spooling is the lage an issue? also was wondering how long you have been running that turbo kit? Im just in the begging of my build and new to the forum so sorry if im pickin at your brain to much! lol

I'm in for a meet, and that would be two FD's from Hudson WI. me and 1985gsl.

Problem is, I don't get out of school until may but I might be able to sneak down there for spring break, BUT i wanted to start the auto - manual swap, during spring break

Porkys owners are in talks about selling it out right to the retirement homes next door. Light rail has nothing to do with it. It should be open the rest of this summer but if the deal goes through next years isnt looking so good.

 

I had been meaning to show up at those mnmazda meets. Guess ill have to this year if porky's is goin away...

A good late spring meet would be at the NASA races at brainerd. Weekend before memorial. Short road trip, plenty of space to camp and grill. Drag and road racing to watch...

We will be racing there with my FC. I might even bring my turbo to play in HPDE...
