ok, reefer is out. the place where i am thinking about having the BBQ you are not suppose to have alcohol so it appears a keg is out too. probably not a good idea anyway for a "car club meet" kindove implies drunk driving. So it will be like Alex7 says BYOB at your own risk.i will have a couple cases on the down low if anybody forgets. the place we are having it is really chill so no worrys. i will be posting a map of how to get there and a list of who is coming soon. still working on Tshirt design. also as for food i am planning on hamburgers and hotdogs, chips and pop nobodys a veg right? if so i can get some turkey burgers or something.? just want to make sure everbody is happy.
any body have any suggestions post them up.
later, adam.

Who is afraid to attend? I don't know about anyone else, but if one believes they need to be doing illegal drugs to enjoy an RX-7 BBQ get together, then maybe they shouldn't come? Or maybe those who dont care for it, shouldnt?

I like to shoot the **** with other people of common interests. In this case, that common interest is our cars. What place does an illegal drug have in this? I personally dont care what people do, but I do care who I choose the crowd I hang out with. And if everyone's interest is getting "high", then thats fine. I will just catch everyone at another event where people are more interested in their cars.

Good luck with the BBQ.

I'll probabely show. I'd rather not have drugs or cops there! A beer or two is all right but with enough drunk people even someone will get stupid and that's when cops show up and they enjoy spoiling any fun. Fast cars and kool RX-7 owners are enough entertainment for me . I'd really like to see Red-rx7 show. He's put together one of the most awesome RX-7's in the midwest!

Thumbs up

I really don't mind cops showing up as long as they are there to enjoy the BBQ and shoot the bull about RX-7s like RED-RX7 is saying. Anyways I am going to see cars and meet people not to get high. I agree with Matt and hope RED-RX7 shows up. I'll love to see his car. See you guys at the BBQ.

as stated before. i figured just let people do what they want to do but if we have to make a rule for people to feel comfortable then lets do. no weed allowed.
cops scare me, i dont like them.

Awww ****, You gotta come dude.

The cop remark I made was a joke because dude sounded sooo exited about refer, and everybody got parinoid. Rest asured that this meet is only about our cars and a good time.

This IS going to happen, wether it's just me and midwest7s or not. But you should all consider it a go.

This isn't about doing anything illegal, It's about meeting people with common intrests as said before. And I look forward to meeting all of you.

No refer, BYOB!

It's gonna be a real good time,

Just FYI,

Most of the 3rd Gen owners in the KC area are older guys with families and careers. They aren't going to put themselves in a situation which might cease the way of life they have come to enjoy (i.e. getting arrested because someone was blazing a fatty near them).

Joking or not, mentioning "bringing drugs" or anything else along those lines to a get together will most likely stop those guys (myself included) from showing up.

Im gonna have to agree with Mahjik here. I would come, but i already get enough attention from area PD's already. If it was a plain meet and dine, perhaps some camping or local sight seeing thats cool, but the thought of a bunch of dudes getting trashed, high or both constitutes a "PASS" on my part.

Wink

It seems to me this whole thing is getting blown out of proportion. I am 40 years old and I am going to see nice cars and meet new people, not to get in trouble. I don't really think anyone is going to be that stupid as to bring anything illegal with them to the BBQ, or am I being naive here? If things look like they are getting out of hand I'll just get up and leave. No big deal.

I hope you are right, but from what I have seen in the matters of various people, I would believe that was the intent of some.

Kyle described the situation down the mark. I do have a family, career, and love for my property. While this may have been taken out of context, the underlining issue still exists. And as mentioned before, it isn't my 'thing'. I have no interest to get caught up into any of that mess, and would rather just hang out with the normal trusted crowd.

The last RX-7 BBQ, at Art's house, there were a few people who were 'high'. I don't think they did anything on Art's property, but it definitely occurred very recent from the point they entered into his house. If people have the nerve to be 'high' at a family man's home (with wife/kid present), what makes you think they wouldn't get 'high' in a neutral place, such as a park?

It is one thing to have this happen once, with no mention of drugs prior to the event. Then it is something else when people are planning it (or at least talking about it in some context) for the upcoming event.

Really, thats suprising. I didnt smell anything and I wouldnt think anyone there was comfortable enough with everyone else to come into that enviroment stoned. I'm sure me and matt looked the part with our long hair but I assure you that it wasnt the case. Matt just acts like that all the time . I hope things can go well with the BBQ, i can understand where some might want to enjoy a few beers. Things other then that have a time and a place and it isnt a car meet.

No, it wasn't you. But it was over obvious on that individual. And to be honest, I don't even know his name. But I can tell you this:

1) He had a 2nd gen.
2) He got gas by Arts house. He was so stoned, that he got back in his car after paying and attempted to drive off with the gas nozzle still in the car. His 2nd gen now (I am sure..) has a dent by the gas tank filler.

well good thing this was brought out in the open and everybody should be on the same page now. i am sure all the refer addicts that show can restrain themselves for a few hours. i know i for one would rather see red rx's 20b than blaze a joint any day. rest assured there will be nothing illegal at my BBQ and if anybody tries to pull some **** i will personaly tell them to leave. i feel bad for even mentioning it in the first place. i hope everybody will come again now that this is straitend out.
