Again,
I'll race him,
stock for stock
You'll see the difference.

I'm settled down... are you? haha, you never explained to me why i need a 555 timer. I couldn't care less if you race him that is up to him. I don't see what that has to do with me?
I think you need to settle down. you ask for an alternative vehicle just to bash people who come up with alternative solutions. all i said is it was a posability in which i would consider if the time ever came (which it won't). WRX is my 2nd favorite car, yet you wouldn't know that. you insist on going off on a wild tangent and rejecting ppls opinions and ideas in a degradign manner. i'm droping the subaru audi depate. I honestly couldn't care less about having either cars right now. My ideal car is one i build myself. I have bigger dreams than you, my dreams do come true. as funny as that may sound.

see i like both cars, but as stated above i wouldnt get an sti, the A4 ask anybody that races those cars push even more so than the sti its kinda a given, even more ask anybody taht races and they will tell you the cringe when they see an audi on track cause it is diffuclut to make them anywhere close to a stock sti, give me a min theres an article on a badass s4 but in the beging the say the same thing, they cringe when they see an audi on track

the STi's DONT PUSH!!!!
um, anyone who thinks they push, doesn't know how to drive them.
also, check out the speed world challenge cars
audi has been dominating for years...

jeff,
bigg difference between AWD and 4-wheel drive..
active diffs, pwnz j00
um, yeah. I'll too be at the meat.. drinking beer and eating meet..
yeah, keith..
Your dreams prolly are bigger than mine.. i have grown older... and have had to put alot on a back-burner..
So i've read some of your ideas for this car you want to build.. come to the meat, I'd like to hear more.. Im shore some of my notes may be beneficial to you...
(oh, and i work with electric motor controllers, motors, torque hub type stuff at work.. for a living.. so trust me.. I've thought alot about component conversion for beta testing/prototype purposes..)
We had a scissor lift with neg camber once...

I am actually capable of coming to this meet. I'd love to talk to u about the project. Although I live close to Ft. Wayne, I have no idea how to get around there. Perhaps if Rolf goes I could follow him...
The more ideas and what not the merrier. I do have access to exotic materials, it's really a no holds barred project. My uncle is a powerful man who also likes toys, he races personal hovercrafts on his spare time (btw he has a wrx H4 engine on his hovercraft) and is head engineer at Bell Bowing on the V-22 osprey project. He is who is giving me the auxiliary power unit. of-corse the turbine given to me won't a one of the two 6150-shaft-horsepower Allison gas turbines like on the osprey, jeez, u think I could afford the price of gas on that??? Ha-ha
I originally did not want to have a bank of batteries onboard and strictly run the apu constantly... in place of batteries, charge capacitors which are many times lighter. There are 2 problems with that. (1.) Small gas turbines are far from fuel efficient I estimated 18 gallons of fuel an hour at continuous operating rpm. And (2.) something which I never even thought about until recently, is the gyroscopic effect created when an object is spinning at such high rpms. It MIGHT try counter acting the handling if the turbine is in operation while trying to take corners... to a point. Especially the lighter I make the car. (Kinda like taking a bicycle rim holding it by the axle with both hands spinning it and trying to maneuver it around while it resists change in motion)
Thus it makes more since to me, even though it would add to the weight of the car ~500 lbs, to charge a bank of batteries. That way I can run ~15 - 20 - 30 minutes before my energy charge is depleted to ~30% of its max capacity. Then I can start the turbine (or have it set to automatically kick in when it reaches that point.) I don’t think 500 pounds is that big of a deal when you’re sitting on ~900 1000+ lbs torque at the wheels depending on IF you have gear reduction, maybe even more
I’ve considered diesel generators and gasoline piston style which would be many times more practical... But what’s the fun in practicality??

jeff,
no it isn't. It was victim to an engine fire..
if you want one, i have several good ones
why not camber plates???
wanna open up a discussion on camber curves and suspension compression??
if you have a MacPhearson car... camber plates are a god-send... besides better handling by having harder mounts.

JEFF,
don't do anything rash..... remember what we've talked about..
Chuck
(who needs to open a shop to help properly educated and direct the motorsports youth of the area... before money grubbing business people try to get all their money and disenchant them from the fun of the sport...)
unless you want me to buy/build a geo to school you in..
