I think I may be there soon again though. That free day I won last year during the school made it's way back to me so I think I'm going to use it for a lapping day. Just this time I really, really, really don't want to total a TSX......
I'll let you know If I can make it Rob.

hey my engine has been nothing but a story of reliablility once i got it studded and tuned properly. has been at many track weekends pissing off boingers on the straights and is still running strong
but yes i agree boost can cut engine life down, nothing like voluntarily adding variables to go wrong......

I'm still patiently waiting for someone to speak up and list a day they want to meet up again. I would say this Saturday or Sunday. I just need directions to where ever since I'm not at all familiar with Fort Wayne.

Anybody need a TII driveshaft? I'm slowly cleaning all the parts out from my "big pile of crap I have no use for".
Still have a clutch master/slave w/ braided line, and some other random rotary engine braided lines (no clue what they go to, they don't fit my motor... ).
I saw Tony and his posse (yeah, that's right, you have a posse now) a couple weeks back. I'm sure I'll be rocking the BMW for a few more weeks though (God I miss having actualy horsepower...); I'll have to line up with Evo-guy once it's done, since he's always down. 16 psi + forged motor = zoom zoom.

Didn't you originaly put the v8 in your car instead of the rotary for reliability and to save money... with the initial cost to put the setup in and now the cost of rebuilding it. I am missing the part where you save money, or even gain reliability for that matter. HAHAHA
Anyway how does the 5th or 12th of july sound for a meet?

In that regard I don't think I could have put that better myself, definitely a lose lose situation. Fronting the extra cost and effort to swap an engine -no mater what the make- just for it to malfunction anyway!? later to spend money to build it again, but pay even more for expensive upgraded parts.. I don't understand the logic behind that.
It's not for me to understand.. I'll stick with ceramic apex seals and corner seals, cermet coated housings, some dowel pining, and say 30+ pounds of boost.. should be scary enough.

Alrighty you 2 kiddies, just a quick FYI, you are aware that he had a bone stock $200 5.3L truck motor (out of the GM 1500 series trucks), correct? And that he KNEW it was going to eventually blow, correct? And that he had already planned a 347 forged bottom end, correct? And that it was a freak accident that caused it all (cam bearing spun slightly causing the #7/8 rod journal to be deprived of oil which led to the #8 rod bearing spinning 180* and knocking). That happens all the time in normal passenger vehicles.
Give me a call when you're making 1000rwhp on pump gas in your daily driver

And Mr. NeverDieEasy is the rotary that difficult to understand? Cause to be honest I love the LS and LSX type engines and I also Love 7's. This is why I take the effort to understand and embrace the insane possibilities of the rotary engine...

FYI I have heard all the bs about his setup BS, really? Do tell... I stand behind my previous statement, I Fail To See How He and Obvouisly You nice use of un-needed capitalization, it accentuates your incoherent rambling of a response very well have gained from spending all this money and effort stuffing that into a already nearly perfect 7 I'm personally not a fan of the rotary, therefore MY car was not perfect in MY eyes. Secondly, I'm not "hating on the rotary and I'm not going to get into the oh so common arguments on rotary vs piston, but piston motors are more reliable, they are more effecient, they will make more power, they have a better cost to power ratio, and personally I think they sound better... Get a kit car or something... That huge engine just throws the geometry of a 7 way off. Correct? No, you are not correct. Please stop trying
And Mr. NeverDieEasy is the rotary that difficult to understand? Spinning dorito of death in a peanut shped case that goes poof... Think I got the basics down Cause to be honest I love the LS and LSX type engines and I also Love 7's That's wierd, because I like the LSX motors and I like the looks of the FD. Maybe I should put an LSX motor in an FD!!! God you're a genius. This is why I take the effort to understand and embrace the insane possibilities of the rotary engine...
Good for you, hope it works out for you. Let me know how it goes if you ever decide to step it up
