I recently had my engine rebuilt by Kevin Landers at "Rotary Resurrection". Rebuilds start at $1,000.00 - Anyway, if you do it yourself... a lot of people say to buy videos. The only one I know of is by Atkins... there are more though.
Here is Rotary Resurrection's site:

If you have the time and basic mechanical knowledge then you can do it yourself. They are surprisingly easy to rebuild if you can follow directions well. If you do this, you definitely need to get the videos. www.atkins.com has one as well as www.rotaryaviation.com . IMO the latter is the better video, but get them both.
If you don't want to rebuild it yourself then Kevin Landers is your best bet. There are VERY few places I would trust with a rebuild and he is one of them. I have never heard of one in your area, which means there probably isn't a high quality one.
I leave the dicision to you, but you will spend a good bit more to get it done at rotaryresurrection once you figure in shipping and such. And just think of how much better you will know your car once you are done!
