I've emailed chip, called chip business every day, called & texted his Facebook. I get no responses at all. Would be nice to ATLEAST return all my parts back to me at minimum. I'm literally about to buy a built motor another guy had ready for his fc but sold the car. Would lovvveee to use that money other ways ugh.

 

that clearly sucks and we all hate to hear it, but if anybody has any news to report showing any positive progress, then please do. Starting to not sound so good though.

Was talking to my coworkers about my engine, and mentioned Chips, and my service writer stated a family friends brother started taking Chip to court pre-pandemic for a freshly rebuilt engine that supposedly blew on the first drive. I guess the pandemic threw a wrench into things but they’re assembling a jury right now.

 

Did you ever receive your parts back? How did you get in contact with chip? I'm ready to drive the 9 hours to his shop for my stuff but don't wanna randomally commit to ya couple days trip for nothing.

 

I am driving there tomorrow to pick up 3 motors that he has had since August, I have had zero contact since Oct. Another customer I know has talked to him multiple times, and even told Chip he needs to contact me. I will be taking our motors back done or not tomorrow.

Had to reschedule due to a conflict at my shop..... Will let you know what happens when we head up there next week. And yes traveling blind bc i can not get him on the phone.

Nope I was spose to drive up last Friday (unannounced) but I had somethings come up. I have been calling nonstop and he occasionally clears out his mailbox so you can leave a message. but no word from him at all.

 

Dropped the parts 2 engine on November 02/2022

God talked to him 14/02/2024......He asked if I could go without the plates modification I said yes just need my parts.....answered me end of February

Went there last Thursday the 15th of March 2024'' gave him 2 extra weeks closed no answer'' talked to his neighbors they say they haven't seen his truck for the lasr 2 / 3 months
3rd 18hr drive for nothing here winter is over car season is up no parts
I feel just a response or an update is overdue

 

So he's fled town with everyones money and parts.
And he'll probably get away with it too.

 

I am ready to just drive up there and let myself into the garage and find my motor and leave

I’m hung out on some parts that were supposed to be shipping soon and am waiting on a response. He had been slow, but usually responding back to me before.

However, I prefer to be a bit more cautious to not judge and instead lend some benefit of doubt, wondering if something else happened, his condition worsened, or he maybe had a relapse?

Perhaps easier for me to say not being as invested/out of pocket as much or waiting as long as some of you are/have been. I’d feel worse for misjudging on my end than losing $200-$300 dollars.

Get your money back asap. He gave me the run-around a few months ago on an order "oh it's so hard to get stuff since Covid". File a complaint and get yout money back, his accounts need to be shut down.

While it absolutely is general advise, it was directed at RX8. RX8, please take this advice.

I was in the same spot a few months ago. "Thank you for the order it will ship tomorrow".

I got a "label created" tracking number. 2-3 weeks later, still hadn't shipped. Emailed and asked for a refund.

"Oh sure I'll refund you right away, it's been hard to get certain products since covid"... this was late 2023

5 days later, I saw a post on Facebook with the Hotel7 crew wondering wtf was up with Chip.

Mentioned my situation, and realized he still hadn't refunded me. Was given the same advice I gave you here. Sent an email and a PayPal complaint, got my money back.

Most of us here care about our parts and money and customer service. Letting people / companies get away with ripping you off for any reason sets a bad precedent and hurts us all. There's already too much of that in the car community, specifically the rotary community for some reason. It needs to stop. Please do your part to hold people accountable.


P.S. I have only ever said anything about your religion in response to you quoting bible passages at me. If you can't handle a critique of your religious beliefs, don't go around quoting your scripture at people in public. You're welcome to make a religious thread in the correct sub forum, and those who are interested can join you there. But don't make me sit through a Sunday school lecture on a car forum, call me a sinner etc and then complain when you don't like the responses.

 

Mr.peak nobody gives a **** about your feelings, everybody wants to know where the **** chip been at and why haven't the services been provided. Unlike you, alot of us have thousands of dollars involved with chip.

Hey guys First time caller long time listener. I had chip do a bunch of work for my 13b powered gc8 time attack Subaru. Semi p housings, cnc’d water jackets, cnc exhaust ports w inserts and lightened and clearance’d rotors bla bla bla. Got the engine all put together, we were creeping up on 600 whp and the rear rotor lost compression. I tore the engine down and much to my dismay the semi machine work had failed a portion of the port failed because it was too thin and coolant filled the rear housing thus washing everything down. Theres a lot more to the story but this is the quick and dirty, Chip said send it back he would fix it. 3 week wait turned into years. Apparently lost in the mail was what i was told. Chip then said it’s going to be months before he’d be able to make me a completely new housing having gotten paid by ups, but still waiting. The kicker is in between that time Chip told me to send me my other housing in to check it to make sure its good and well wouldn’t ya know it he’s got it now. I can go down the rabbit hole and post all the emails with dates ect but its been over a year w no update. What has anyone seen heard done recently? Im in Colorado. This car was at PRI a number of years ago and has been sitting waiting. Meantime I have parts from billet rotary store but really want my ****
