if you are in the midwest you'd better plan to be at the 05 MRR

having raced SCCA Nationals for 22 seasons and having been a road racing nut for all my life i can tell you that Road America is one of the greatest road racing tracks in the world.

do you know any tracks where a lap is FOUR MILES?

not a bump and yet, because it is situated in the Kettle Morraine it has beautiful elevation changes and you can see every bit of the track w the frontage roads.

the MRR this year is special. it is the 50th anniversary of Road America and our weekend Aug 19-21 is super special for MAZDA.

the American LeMans Series is at the track along w Star Mazda and the Sedan series. all Mazda big time. you may know of Mazda's entrance into the LMP2 class.

then add in Cam Worth and Candy. Cam is the hp behind Pettit Racing and will drive his supercharged rx8 from florida to Road America. if you ever had a question about your rotary Cam is the answerman.

Cam and Candy will be around fri-sun. Saturday night Cam Candy and Howard will do a dinner presentation.

Ryan Scott/RXTuner creator editor will also be at the MRR. Ryan does Mazda fulltime and it would be a good move to follow Ryan around as he knows where rotary news is.

the MRR has a new improved paddock location at RA... we will actually be able to hear ourselves talk etc.

so if you chance upon this post do yourself a favor and plan to join us in the Mazda Corral at Road America for the MRR. BTW, do check out my twin (that's 2)T04 setup and say HI.

lots going on at the 05 MRR... we extend a big welcome to all rx8s BTW.

noise is measured on the outside of the track so most road racing cars that are putting out lots of N direct it to the inside. we are on the outside of the track this year and it should be lots more pleasant to bench race etc.

if you missed the registration just show up at the corral for a big welcome. $15/day gets your car in the corral and eligible for the Concours judging if you wish on Sat or prize/drawing on Sun.

if you enter at the gate off HWY J and drive straight after the gate you will see the corral on your right about 100 yards past turn 3.

The Midwest Rotary Rally at Road America

Anniversaries are special so join us as we celebrate 50 years of road racing
at Road America, one of the greatest road racing tracks in the world.

The Midwest Rotary Rally also has cause for celebration as 2005 marks our
fifth annual edition. We aim to make it the best, and suggest you mark MRR
on your calendar for Aug 19-21.

Rotary Camaraderie
amongst Road America’s 575 acres of rolling kettle
moraine during the best sportscar weekend at the track. The Road America
500 (miles!) will be decided on the 4 mile road racing course featuring sportscars from the 2005 Le Mans race and GT cars such as the new Corvette C6 R, and Aston Martin DBR9. Add to that the Star Mazda series, the Trans Am and the Speed World GT and Touring series…

Rotary Corral
New optimized location with partially shaded parking for your rotary. Sound
comfortably under 100 decibels may augment rotary camaraderie.

Rotary Rotary
We are proud to feature Mazda’s newest edition to the rotary family, the RX8 at this year’s event.

The MRR is very proud to welcome Cameron (Cam) and Candy Worth and their signature Pettit engineered supercharged RX8. Cam and Pettit Racing are considered by many to be the preeminent rotary tuning/engineering firm in the USA. Cam is currently building a tube frame RX8 GT racecar powered by Mazda’s famed 3 rotor powerplant and may bring the car to the event if it is completed by August. Cam and Candy have graciously consented to share some of their knowledge (could be anything from sideseal gap to building a supercharged rotary motor for Roger Penske’s launch) after dinner Saturday evening. I wouldn’t want to miss it.

Rotary Resort
Otherwise known as the Starlight Motel in scenic New Holstein, Wisconsin. (yes the town is named after our beloved Wisconsin cows). We have the entire resort, er motel. Nothing but rotaries will be welcome Aug 19-20. Friday night is a short walk to the local pizza/bar. Sat/Sunday morning a short walk to the local breakfast joint. Sounds like party material to me. And all located a scant 7 miles of twisty asphalt through the scenic Kettle Moraine woods to the track.

Of course the Saturday night dinner w Cam as speaker, Mazda pit tours, the annual Concours, swap meet, and Touring on the Track will continue as MRR features.

The Rotary Car Club of Chicago (C3), the RX Club of Wisconsin and the Northstar Rotary Rockets extend a warm invite to all rotary enthusiasts to join the celebration.

Road America if you have never been to perhaps America's greatest road racing facility.... http://www.roadamerica.com/2005/track_maps.htm

Road America directions http://www.roadamerica.com/2005/track_directions.htm

Corral is $15 per day, that'd be in addition to a Road America ticket. Corralers may participate in a sat Concours/prizes and a sunday prize drawing which has been fat in the past.

spend some time w Cam and Candy and listen real well as there are few people in the world that know what they know... and do check out the Pettit Supercharged 6 piston braked RX8. there are open track sessions for your car on sat and sunday for a bargain $50. try to catch Cam's RX8 on the track.

don't miss the MRR this year.... oooops, almost forgot that Ryan Scott should be in attendance.

all super duper,
