Turn key=No spark Test Mode=Spark in both coils....SOS
Hey fellas,
This is driving me crazy. If i try and start the car, there's no spark. Although when i put it on test mode, it gives spark to both coils. I figure if it's giving spark in test mode, it must mean the wiring is correct right?
The car started on the first try when we connected it and drove perfect, but the next morning it started giving us this problem, and we have'nt been able to get the car started since.
Thanks
Luis

when cranking are you getting the orange light flashing on the side of the case??
if it is working in test mode it means your coils are wired right but you CAS is more than likley wired incorrect,

Thank's for the reply Dale.
Yes, the orange light does flash!!!!
Well i rewired the CAS and still nothing. I dont think I had it wired incorrectly the first time, cause the car did start and drove perfect the first day. I thought maybe I had a bad solder, but it still wont give spark, and the rpm's won't move.
If I disconect the CAS and put it on test mode, will the coils still Spark?

Yep - test mode internally simulates a CAS signal at 1800 RPM. Can you absolutely verify that the coils are getting power, even when the starter is turning? Some +12V sources (for example, the stereo) cut out when the starter is engaged. Throw a test light on the coil power source and turn the car over, and tell us what you see.

Fuel is ok. I'll check the coils tomorrow witht eh test light to see what happens.
One more thing, Why is the box red on (0gh). Does this mean the value is incorrect and it's giving me some kind of warning. For a minute, i though it was some kind of alert and that's why it wont let me start the car. just a thought.

That red box simply means that's the "active" map point that it's using, and that the "cursor" function of the matrix tables is currently resting on that same box. Don't worry about it.

hmm ok so ive been having the same problem, started the frist day, then the next didnt at all. would it be safe to go ahead and use the wires goin to the coils originally? ... well im going to assume that and try it.
ive been screwing with it fordays, today I had the plugs in and put it in test mode and the motor turned over!!! haha, i guess it had so much fuel that it all burnt up. anyway I guess I have the 12+ switched on a lead that turns off when cranking. just wierd how it started the first day.

hey what is the test mode u are all taking about? cause i dont have spark at leading or trailing and leading is switching on both sides of coil but no spark also the leading coil is .002 ohms so i put a .06 msd but still no spark ?

fuel pump will stay off and all injectors and sparks will fire in preset test pattern

UU talking about pulling a fuse ..... We dont habe rotary shops here very few in ca but none where i live but anyways all u said was test mode screen 31 wtf? I'm pretty sure Mitchell and all data don't tell u how to go in test mode

WTF?
go to screen 31
scroll across till you find config,, set it so cyl = zero
the ecu is now in test mode,, it will kill the pump and fire all injectors and sparks in preset pattern
doesnt get any more basic than that
if you cant grasp that then you need to go to a shop
