sparks plugs fouled?

ok guys how can i tell if plugs are fouled up? i used a wire brush to clean them off but the car still doesnt start. forgive me if its a stupid question but im still learning all this. it seems like it pours fuel when i crank it. it smokes up the garage on cranking alone. could that be from foul plugs?

oh and also i had 1000x4 injectors all around but thought it was way too much for the microtech to handle down low as it wasnt revving clean so i put my old 800s in and still had the same issue. you guys have been a great help so far and i am learning a lot from everyone here. thanks guys.

its got pretty much new seals wit not even 1000 miles. orings are pretty much brand new. i just had to open it up because i blew the back plate last year at the track. its a s4 turbo 2 street port motor. when i first turned the key with 1000cc injectors it started right up but i didnt leave it on for long. i got it to start a couple times after that but it started to die off. now it wont start at all even after changing back to the 800cc injectors. thats why im thinking fouled plugs maybe. it seems like its just dumping fuel and not getting burned.

nope
youve flooded it cause you keep switching it off and starting it.
Put NEW spark plugs in it.
put the 1000cc injectors back in it.
and take it straight away and get a tune.

hey thanks rx72c its idling pretty decent now. its idling at low to mid 12s on the wideband. now my next question is how do i keep it from choking when i give it some throttle off idle. im trying to tune without load to around mid 12 to low 13 but when trying to rev it it chokes.

What your doing is incorrect.
Tuning without load is a complete waste of time.
Dont do it otherwise itll screw with the rest of your tune.

Show me your PUMP settings and your LOAD map.
And ill see why you have a flat spot.

well i went for a drive and the car is driving with a really bad misfire or something from around 2000 and up. it sounds like a subaru motor under the hood. im thinking when secondaries come on at 2000 maybe too much fuel. i will do some more tuning tomorrow and post the settings.

its either in the wrong spot, or the vaccum hose it fucked somewere.

Does your microtech read 00HG all the time?

soemthing wrong with your manifold, put it on the nipple on the side of the manifold and see if it fixes your problem or not?

lol you're from chicago too? rx72c got my car running early this year. Maybe i should try helping you out, he taught me a lot.

But ya i'm thinking he's saying the one by the turbo. The lonely vacuum nipple on the passenger side.

excellent. good stuff.
normally that bottom nipple on the alternator side should be fine but i have now seen a few manifolds were that nipple does not work for one reason or another.

well i think i found the problem. i think the gasket from intake manifold to the motor is garbage. i changed injectors and fired it up and something started hissing right away. i think it was the coolant that was sitting there from the leak i had to fix. will be taking it apart tonight.

its funny you say that. i thought it was gasket and it was grommet that was the problem. changed the grommet and no hissing. now i will have to see why the motor is acting the its been acting. is there someway to tell if the injector is sticking?

hey rx72c i got the car riding smooth after 2000 rpm, thats when the secondaries come in, but under 2000 rpm its riding rough like a really bad throttle response. my pump settings are as follows:

pump1 AMT-28%
pulse+5
trig+10
pump2-30%
trig+10
