what is that serial cable you have??
it is not a standard male-femail DB9 cable,
if you have a USB port you must use a USB to serial adaptor then the serial cable from that

It is a standard serial cable. The one I got with the kit. I have both serial and usb port on my laptop, and i have tried them both.
The handset does not come with the kit.

So i payed 1200 dollors for just the software and the box?
how the hell am I to do the tuning with no hand set.
I have a new laptop, but it has no Com Port. so i tryed to use the USB to com.
and i still can't connect. am i doing something wrong

I just read in the lt8s manual that if the lt software is installed on the ecu, there will be a label under the unit.
There is no such label under my ecu's. I guess this must be the problem.
But it is strange that I got a ecu without the software, when I ordered it with the laptop adapter, and without the handset.
