MT and LT series differences.. help
Hi there,
have been around these forums for a few years now but never posted... and this question has i know come up time and time again.. looking thought the Archives ive found abit of info regarding this but no real list... with respect to the MT series not being available new anymore, can this question be cleared up once and for all?.. just wandering if you all could explain to me the differences between the LT and MT series or point me/others in direction of the thred that has the information, mostly the LT8 and the MT8's. from what i understand the MT series is more of a 2d fuel map and not laptop tuneable??
thanks in advance..

unforutantely your wrong. LOL.
hahahaha
sorry
MT is the first generation of fuel and ignition ecus(note the mt4 and lt4 are an exception, as you can see the fuel only computer is denoted by the number 4).
THE MT series computer is no longer available, the main difference between the mt and the lt series is the LT series has MATRIX mode and is LAPTOP tunable.
were as the MT series can only be tuned via handset, also an mt series computer cannot be locked.
Thats pretty much the only difference.
I hope i have answered all your questions.

Ok so the LT series have over the MT series:
(note this is mostly for seccond hand buyers)
- Ability to be used in Matrix mode and also Normal meaning the LT series can be tuned at 500rpm increments.
- The LT series is Laptop tunable and the MT can only be tuned via the hand controller.
- The MT series computer cannot be locked, LT's can.
onto another question... Handcontrollers. (attached images) noticing the different "MT" "LT" "LTS" denotations in the bottom left on the hand controllers, is there any compatability issues here? can the "MT" one be used to tune an LT series ecu? do they all hold 4 memCAL's, which one had 4lines and 2lines.. and for some what are "lines".
also.. re-programming ecu's.. from what ive herd re-programming an MT series ecu or upgrading it to an LT series is no longer available. can microtech still reprogram an LT series computer to be used on different engines.. or does this even need to be done given that its a stand alone computer anyway.
thanks for the replys

the mt8 series can be tuned every 500 rpm.
mt's cannot be reporgrammed.
lt's can be reprogrammed, although its costly. and if your putting the computer on a different engine to what its programmed to it wont work.
