Microtech Purchasing Issues!

I just purchased a Microtech LT8 and laptop adapter from Atkins Rotary in Washington. It hasnt been the best experience for me because they've forgotten a few items, like the software and serial cable.

Jason at Atkins asked the dealer he gets them from (I dont know who the dealer is) if the software is included when you buy the laptop adapter and he said "no." That seems crazy to me, how the heck are you supposed to use the adapter without the software. Is this true? Needless to say, he's getting me the software at "no charge" like Im supposed to feel good about that...lol

He also told me that www.microtechefi.com is not even the real companies website but an authorized dealers website. Is this true? I guess I should have noticed that when the URL didnt have AU at the end of it.

So whats the deal?

no no no

A)MicrotechEFI is a semi-official website
(MicroTech Global to be exact)

B) "you can" download the software and burn onto a cd
if you wish
But the laptop adapter is suppose to come with the CD

PM me if you need the software

ok heres the deal,

Microtech Global is the only company authorised to sell the microtech products over seas, they own the web site www.microtechefi.com

as for the software, just download it off the internet, it is on www.microtechefi.com for download, if they dont have the software they are just not buying it with the adaptors, they have the choice to buy it or not to buy it,

You are supposed to get the adaptor, software & cable all in one go.
The microtechefi.com website is owned by myself.I also own Microtech Global which as Dale has stated handles international Microtech sales. The website was set up by myself as a source for information, technical support & backup on the full range of microtech products which until now had no web presence whatsoever, not from either Microtech themselves or any other international or domestic dealer. The site was created with the blessing & full support of Microtech itself.
Some companies still buy ecu's through other channels rather than through Microtech Global, these companies quite often pay too much & recieve no technical or product support which quite often means that the end user pays too much & doesn't recieve what he's entitled to.This is not the fault of the dealer in the USA,the problem stems from the original source of the ECU.
Any dealers that Microtech Global sell to are supplied with the software & cable as a complete kit unless they specifically ask for just the adaptor by itself.
Hope this clears a few things up.

Re: Microtech Purchasing Issues!

As you just experienced, since Atkins is not a autorized dealerr they dont even know what suppose to come with the laptop adaptor.. these are the companies that you need to stay away from cause they would of charged you for software that already comes with the adaptor dongle

good luck

I would like to know who is microtech global
ive been to the usa many times and fitted many microtechs to alot of drag cars and street cars that have been very successful.
Microtech was never heard of now all of a sudden when you hear of micotech its all these other people that have never been to the states and other countries; that are claiming that they are microtech global -
- what the **** is going on?
I am thinking of this because my impression was that Anthony & Dom made and represented microtech. The only other person authorised on microtech on a globle scale is Fito Garcia from hyper motorsports in P.R
The last time i was at the track was at pormona Anthony and Lino (Maztech/Microtech) where on the start line with Siguel
Both Microtech & Hyper motorsports where the only sponsors names on the car.
I havent seen a GLOBAL or RX ENGINEERING sticker any where near the USA or AUS cars WTF!!!!!!!!!!!

I
I'll let Tim or Jon answer

But your damm right
Know one knew of MicroTech
Why cuase the PR's dealers NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER
made a trickle of a attempt to spread the gospel
There all secrete with there setups NEVER share ANY info
ask siguel who is better working for the CIA

If it was not for people like me, Dale, Jon, Tim and Anthony.R
Who came to this Board (world's most read RX7 site)
and Let it be known and supported Microtech

MicroTech would still be stuck in PR and Aus
and not spreading like it is

When the last time you came here
and answered anyones technical questions eh?

now Microtech with Microtech Global (exporting agent of Microtech) will expose the ecu's to all different areas of the world

To bad that Anthony Rodrigues ripped people off in Puerto Rico for years now... i feel bad for people in
Puerto rico paying over $1500 for a LT8!

what a joke!

That post really shows how little you know,

yes Anthony did sell ecu's to PR, yes PAC did sell ecu's to the USA, but at big prices and low quantitys,

Microtech Global is a authorised company to handle the export sales, this is done deal with Dom.

as for the no RX engineering stickers you know that is a load of ****, do you buy fast fours?? did you go to jamboree?? they had more cars at jamboree than any other shop! go buy this months fast fours and have a look in there.
