Datalogging w/b afr's w/ LT-8?

I'm thinking this has come up before but I was pretty sure there never was a definitive answer. I have an LT-8 and i want to know if i'm using a wideband with an narrowband output will the microtech accuratly read the AFR's or will it just jump from 10.2 to 14.7 to 16??? As far as I can tell it should work but i'm trying to find out if anybody has done it and what the results were. Thanks.

the wideband is a -5 sensor, while the narrow band is -1v. It will work, but the ecu can only read the range the narrow band will pick up. There is a thread that gets a little more in depth floating around some place.

I understand they work off two different voltage ranges, thats why most of the wideband controllers have a NARROW BAND output so you can hook them up to a stock ecu. In theory it should work just fine but we all know that bc something should work doesnt mean it will.

It depends... It depends on the narrowband output of your WB sensor. If it's a true linear 1v range, then yes, it should do fine. But from what I've seen on most NB output on WB sensors, it's not linear. It looks very much like a regular narrowband sensor -- in other words, you're not getting any more accurate than just using a regular NB -- great at or near stoich, but not accurate when rich or lean. but then again, that's better than nothing, right? Check around on the various WB sensors and kits and try to figure out what their NB output looks like. Check out the TechEdge unit -- that's what I'm going with and it appears that the 2.0 version and above have a linear NB output. But just to be safe, I'm still going to have a WB guage separate from my MT.

HTH.

I have an LT8x and an innovative wb. It doesnt work with the narrow band out that comes programed into the wb kit, but if you set it up as a linear 0-1v output then the microtech reads it pretty close, but not exactly on with the afr that the wideband unit is displaying.

You can program the Innovative kit to have different output voltages on its aux outs, and one is 1.0v=10.0afr ro 2.0v=20afr. I would like to get the microtech to datalog this output. Is there anyway I can get the logger on the microtech to do this using say the aux input on the microtech harness? Or is that input just for a 12v or 0v input signal, and cant be logged? The reason I ask is because on the microtech datalog screen there is an aux1 and aux2. What the hell are these?
