Microtech It was bound to happen...

the re uses a pickup on the front of the motor dosent it?? if so you will have to order a computer to suit that,
the harness that comes with the microtech is a flying harness, you will need to connect the plugs to the ends of the wires, easy job!
the only differences between the LT and LTX is that the LT uses factory ingiters and coils and the LTX uses its own inbuilt igniters and bosch coils,
if you have a e6k now you can order your microtech to work with the delco/gm water temp and air temp sensors, then you dont need to change them.

I've got to ask, Tony, what your plans are for your turbo setup. Be aware that the LT8 doesn't have enough binary outputs to properly control the Mazda sequential turbo setup by itself.
I don't wanna sabotage my own groupbuy, but I don't want you to get in over your head, either.

Thanks for the concern brandon, but the only twins I like are right under a womans chin. Im not going to run the twins, but a S5 turbo on my -RE instead. It will always be single turbo. My goal is an 11 second car.

Twin Turbo
Tony,
We have wired LT8's and still maintained the factory Ecu for Idle control/a.c/turbo control etc.. Works well for driver comforts but the factory turbos are a little limiting. Could supply you the info if required.

Unless you're running a MoTeC, knock control is pretty uncommon in
aftermarket EMSes, unfortunately. I know that the J&S can be very
carefully used on a rotary, but it only retards the leading ignition. Too
much leading retard can have disastrous results (backwards-ignition). I've
also heard of an MSD setup being used with good results, though I don't
know the details.
The LT8 won't (nor will any EMS) preclude you from using a seperate knock
sensor. There's a chance (albeit a slim one) that the LT8 might have an
unused input which could be used in conjunction with an aftermarket knock
sensor, though it might take some creative engineering.
BTW, the stock knock sensor isn't good for much If you do go with a
seperate system, replace it with something more worthy.

No7Yet.....do you think that you could send out an email to everbody on the list, I joined but just want to make sure I'm on, and don't want to find out after the groupbuy that something screwed up and I didn't get added. Thanks

Flying Harness
Can somebody explain the differences in Harnesses that are supplied with the system? What is a flying harness?
I have an RX 2, and am going to be putting a 13BT in it. I want to use the MicroTech, but need to figure out exactly what I need. E.G type of Harness, sensors..ect.
I have just the car, and the 13BT block at this point. Will style of harness matter if I am putting this in a RX 2?
Sorry if the questions sounds retarded, I am new at this. Oh yah.... and I am retarded

Basically the harness that comes with the microtech has no connectors on the end, you supply and fit the connectors to the harness,
the systems use all the standard sensors, so unless you dont have these you dont need to order any, if you dont have them (water, air temp, TPS, CAS )in your block you will need to track some down or order the water and air with the micretech unit,
there are heaps of RX2's down here running the microtechs, the standard harness is the one you want!

What is the difference in price for the standard?
