bad idea?
Is it a bad idea to send a rotary car in to a tuner who tunes mostly hondas motec and hondata system? i mean is there anything that i should be teling the tuner or something he should be aware of when tuning my car?

sold the FD...kept the FB
It would give me a bad feeling if they never tunned a rotary before. It's also real important that they have plenty of experience with your EMS. They should also know some rotary basics like:
-Detonation is not an option, especially under boost. If it detonates under boost, it will most likely die.
-Oil temps get real high on rotaries compared to pistons...if on a dyno, make sure he's got a fan that gets to not only the rad, but the oil cooler too.
-Make sure they know how trailing and leading ignition works... i.e. firing the trailing before the leading (negative split) is bad, especially under boost. More timing split for idle, less for higher revs.
