12a bp turbo - new engine - base map help
Hi Guys,
Ive got a fresh 12a bridge port turbo with a microtech lt10s. Injectors are S5 turbo 550cc for primary and RCI 1200cc for secondaries. Timing has been set using first notch on the pulley which is 5ATDC.
The only way i got it to start was the bump start it and then if stalled i cant get it to start off the key and the base map is set up for a 13bt turbo and i cant get it to idle. once the water correction map come into play it increased the idle considerable to around 2300rpm which isnt where id like for it to be on a brand new engine.
Can anyone suggest some parameters for my idle map and so forth to get me going and drivable?
Cheers Guys

Your problem isnt the tune.
YOUR PROBLEM IS THE ENGINE.
It hasnt got enough compression to start.
You need to get it running. Let it idle high. Take it for a long drive and hope it runs in enough to start.
Engines with 1 piece seals dont generally start very well, let alone when they are new.

Well if you can right down all the values for your idle and load map. Ill go through them and put something together for you.
But what your experiencing is lack of compression. an engine with good compression will always start. 12a fuel requirements are only marginally different to 13b.
Also your idle sitting at 2380rpm when hot and lower when cold is normal. You have to set your idle speed once its warm.
Have you calibrated your tps so its actually referencing off your idle map?

Ill try and get the data from it for you to see for yourself..
My 2 vista laptops and work xp laptop arent working.. They connect then say no connection - have just ordered a new serial to usb adapter and will try later in the week.

The map im giving you is only going to help if your engine has compression. If you put this in and it makes no difference. then your engine is simply low on compression.

But just from looking at your map. It isnt your start up problem. But put it in. It wont make it worse.
