Are you running a Megasquirt?

If you are currently runnning a Megasquirt please list your name, location, what version, and a little info about your ride (year/turbo/Na/etc..) , this way we can see how many people are using and where they are.

Thanks

I'm in S FL and have driven an '83 NA 12A for 22K miles/2 years. Atkins ported short block, RB header & presilencer. 2x50mm throttle bodies on DCOE pattern wraparound intake manifold. Currently using v2.2 board w/ MS2 processor running fuel and leading only ignition via a GM HEI7 ign module, a 2nd gen leading coil and a modified CAS. These are assisted by a wideband O2 sensor, EGT, oil temp and fuel rail pressure sensors. Sitting on bench, successfully tested numerous ways and awaiting a bit of spare time to install it, is a v3 board stuffed w/ an MS1 processor loaded with MSnS-E (Extra) code. This provides fuel, leading and trailing ign as well as a bunch of other options and refinement that the Extra code provides. Ignition to be done via VB921 coil drivers firing the 2nd gen leading coil and individual trailing coils FD style. Pics of current install at http://smrmicro.com .

-Greer/Clemson, SC (I go back and fourth)
-V2.2 board with V1 chip running 025i6 firmware w/muythaibxr's trailing code
-This is a S4 TII. It started as a '86 base model (no power doors/windows, no sunroof, no rear wiper, no power steering). We sanded the entire car to bare metal, and repainted it. The engine is a street ported motor that we put together from several "free" engines (cars that where given to us as they where not running/where complete junk). Next year, this car will be going to the $2006 Challenge and I hope will be a top contender.

I don't know if tofuball will see this, but here's the info (since I did the initial megasquirt work to get it working on his car):

Maryland, 1990 NA 'vert - MS v2.2 with ported intake manifold and the rat's nest removed. Was running 025x1 with my idle advance mods before we yanked the stock harness and started rebuilding it from scratch. Also getting the MS, techedge wideband, and msns-extra board stuffed into a stock ECU case.

If tofuball sees this maybe he'll do his 'vert proper justice where mechanical mods are concerned, I don't remember everything he did to it.

We will also have an S4 NA and an S5 T2 megasquirted by the beginning of next month at the latest, and I have a 1985 ae86 with a 20 valve 4age that should also be done by then...

Not all the trailing code is mine however, I just fixed what jsmcortina (from the megasquirt forum) had already put there.

Vehicle: 1978 Mazda GLC (known as 323 outside USA)

Engine: 1962cc (654 x 3 rotors) 20B, #756 (early engine). Never opened as far as I know, with stock ports, stock injectors etc. Currently NA.

Injection: Stock 550cc/min x 6 injectors, high impedance (14 ohm), stock manifold, slightly modded throttle body (thanks to RETed's info), using renns' staged injection and MSnS-Extra022i6 (latest tested working with J-109 ignitors). V2.2 board with brushed aluminum Glen's Garage case and 'classic' CPU.

Ignition: Attempting late leading with modded CAS and all three LEDs as ignition trigger outputs. No trailing ignition at this time (not worth the effort as it only adds a couple HP to an NA setup). Ignitors: 1st gen J-109, Coils: 1st gen Diamond brand, Plugs: 2nd gen leading NGK BUR7EQ.

Result: fired up and ran for the first time after a few seconds of cranking on renns' 6 port 13B fuel and ignition 'maps' modded for 12x12 table use. Only runs when cold air valve (BAC valve?) is open and during cold enrichment. Needs tuning.

Current Status: On hold. Waiting for completion of other projects. I also need to learn how to tune.

I have an 84 GSL 12a with megasquirt 2.2 and MSnS-E firmware.
Custom tig welded aluminum 12a to Weber IDF style manifold with a Weber style throttle body, ~50mm which tapers down to 38mm, x2 bores. 42.29# high impedence injectors from racetronix. Econoline/F150 fuel pump and Tweakit surge tank, stock low pressure pump, GM air and coolant sensors, relay board, custom harness, etcetc..
I am currently using one of Kent Abel's beta 'trick' circuits and using FC ignition components, but as soon as my daughtboard gets in, I will switch to MS ignition using a FC CAS and other stock FC stuff.. I'm currently in Owensboro, KY.

I ran MS with the old Dual Table code on my FC. It was configured to work with the stock ecu still providing spark control. This worked nicely, and was my daily driver for almost 2 years (Fall 2002 thru Summer 2004). I was running DualTable code at the time, mapping primary and secondary injectors from two different tables. This is a pain to tune, but with time can be set up to run very nicely.

I also ran MS in my SA with a 4-port 13b and dizzy ignition. I experimented with different injector locations (none in the center iron on this engine), and never found a combo that idled well without eventually loading up.

For the last 1.5 yrs I've been running a 6-port 13b in the SA in various configurations. Most recently, with MSnSExtra024, running twin EDIS4 ignition modules firing two pairs of FC trailing coils. I was triggering from a 36-1 wheel (actually machined teeth into rim of e-shaft pulley), running simultaneous firing of leading and trailing. Recently a 72-2 wheel has been mounted within the stock CAS, triggering the two stock Mazda VR sensors which have been slightly modified to give a 5-degree fixed split.

I've mounted a FMIC, electric fan, remote battery, TII intake, etc. all in preparation for the installation of an S5 turbo I have waiting on the bench. Once driving season is over, I'll swap that in, and try a lightly boosted high compression rotary next spring.

I have 1986 gxl with S5 Turbo engine. Mods are Front mount intercooler, full 3"exhaust, walbro fuel pump, 550cc primary and 720cc secondary, ported intake manifold and throttle body and S4 NA ecu running timing. Version 2.2 ms with msns extra and error daughter board (soon to be hooked up) Currently just trying to tune the fuel right then play with timing.

Vehicle 1982 Mazda RX-7 mostly converted to a GSL-SE. Current set up: 1987 13B 6 port with a cartech turbo kit (air to liquid intercooler). Lightweight flywheel and rebuilt engine with 100% new seals . My 5th rotary rebuild so far. Engine also has additional mocal oil coolers and water injection, nitrous oxide. Way too much to list here,I will post pictures someday soon. Megasquirt set up currently underway. I have a V3 board using a V1 chip and HC908 CPU and Renns Daughtercard im1825 VR circuit. Have 4-550cc RC injectors now and recently ordered 4-720cc to add more fuel. Suspension is all GSL-SE with tokiko illuminas all around and 4 wheel disk with a torsen limited slip rear. CP racing rack and pinion steering . 100% urathane bushings, adjustable control arms, camber plates and alluminum spherical bearing watts linkage. Really owe a huge thanks to everyone posting on this site as over the years this site has been the most helpful of all! Project started 5 yrs ago and I swear it will never end...lol. Thanks again for the info guys and will do my best to contribute,custom13B
