there shouldn't be any crosstalk unless you have wires actually crossed...

Judging from your post above, the trailing is working as it should.

Last weekend I replaced both Ne and G wires with 2 conductor shielded wires, both grounded on one end. That should eliminate any EMI on the VR input lines.

At this point I'll close out on this thread as the original problem is resolved.

I still have a problem with the leading/trailing spark and I'll open up a new thread soon.
