Thinking of squirting my '86 13B-RE
I am thinking of squirting my car, but am absolutely afraid of the tuning aspect. I'm sure I can put it together, even monkeys can be taught to solder, but the tuning I have no expierience in. I'm trying to control the E-fan and other relays along with the ignition and fuel on it with this unit. I have the stock FC coils and ignitors in right now, and the turbos are still run sequentially. I was hoping someone knew a way to keep it like this. The motor is bone stock, the only upgrade is the intercooler, which is just a cheap XSPower front mount, and the custom exaust. Can I keep the turbos sequential? How could I operate the relays? Would I need the relay box?

If you end up squirting your RE just let me know, I can supply you with a good running s5 turbo fuel map. It will be fairly close to what you will need being that the compression is the same. only difference is you will need more top end fuel because of the larger ports on the motor itself. I have both fuel and ignition figured for my s5 motor right now. ignition is actually very tame so it will be a good starting point. And as far as the turbos. there are ways to make them run as non-sequential, which I have heard is better anyways. the small turbo doesn't really loose any spool time but the larger one gains a little in the midrange.

the turbos aren't different size to get around spool up, they only run one until boost is available, the the second one kicks on as well. I doubt any gains will be had, more losses of torque from running non-sequential. That's why i wanted them sequential. if ms can't do it, i might have to go with the RE ECU, or go haltec. thanks.

Depends on how you're running them sequential... If it's a simple system with a couple of solenoids, then the MS should be able to turn them off/on. If it's the stock FD sequential system there's no way the MS can do it... and I'm pretty sure no other ECU does it either.

only a power fc will be able to control stock fd twins, but those are one small and one large. If these are same size turbos then no ecu will be able to control them unless you can find a power fc for a cosmo from japan. Good luck there. This is why most people that go with the RE go with a single.
