MS1 3.0 starts/ runs but very badly.
Hi, i installed the ms1, installed megatune extra on laptop, i put in values from arron cake site.
The idle is lean on my wideband, 15-16 idles very poorly, i tried to adjust ve table for more fuel and it makes it run leaner. Pushing/playing on throttle it accels ok with good afr.
timing isnt steady, tried to check timing locked at -5 at megatune, but timing mark is bouncing around and so is the rpm. Getting no afr reading in megatune.
I think i have to mod the cas, unless the ms1 has the vr2 circuit built in, but i dont know it does, got it off somebody.
1986 s4, with basic bolt ons.

if the engime rums, you don't need to mod the CAS. If making it richer makes the AFR read leaner, you are probably already running too rich. You probably need to lean it out a bit.

Yes. You can modify the tables and they take effect immediately, but not stored in flash, so will be lost when MS is power-cycled. To save permanently, click burn, which will cause the engine to stumble, but is otherwise OK.

ok, thanks, Ive run into another issue where car runs fine with normal AFR, but for some reason it will run rich all of the sudden super rich idling at 10.8 afr, and driving at low 11s.

Thank you. I have a question, does it matter alot what you put for required fuel? i had mine at 13 runing on ethanol, then i change to 11 and had to bump up my ve as high as 140s at 100 kpa N/a engine,

The req fuel value will end up scaling fuel up or down when you change it. Basically moving reqfuel down will cause your whole VE table to need to have higher numbers (as you noticed). This is expected behavior.

Everything is working ok ecept sometimes when i start the, doesnt matter if its wormed up or not, it will run much leaner and doesnt want to idle at all, i have to rev the engine above 1500 rpm to keep it from dieing. If i restart the car/ ecu a couple of times it will go back to normal.
