more issues...

Well, I finally got the v2.2 build and working. But im having problems getting it setup correct.

I have built an adapter harness, that seems to work. Getting all sensor activity, and rpms.

I tried cranking it (to test) with standard msns settings, and all it did was flood the engine. No problem, I didn't really expect it to work. But when I set all of the settings to the ones in the faq, I lose ALL rpm activity and the map sensor gets locked at 187kpa. TPS calibration shows 255 no matter what. Water and air temp seem ok.

So I went messing around with settings. It seems that things start to go wrong when I set the LEDs as spark outputs. As soon as I change the LEDs to Spark A, C, and B, then powercycle, every thing goes crazy.

At the bottom of the Megatune screen, next to the flashing fuel pump light, I get a solid red 'config error' but Im not sure what im configuring wrong.

As of now I am running a v2.2 board fully tested and working, with latest msns firmware. For the VR circuits, I have a '*error' daughter card. The VR circuits are the only things wired at the moment.

It is pretty important for me to get this running asap, As I am running a half bridge turbo setup on a stock s4 n/a ecu... Even tho it does haull ***

And I am attaching my msq, because I'm pretty sure this is where I am messing up.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks Arsenio

When you get the "config error" turn off the MS, start hyperterminal with 9600 8 - n - 1 settings, and then power the MS back up.

It'll tell you where the config error is.

yeah. I ended up messing around with it some more right after I posted this thread. Ended up being that I didn't have rotary trailing set. After getting that straight, all the sensor inputs look good.

But I am still not getting rpms wile I crank. I say 1 in 10 cranking attempts will get a little spike of about 150-300 rpms for a split second. But nothing consistent.

The wire for the CAS part of the adapter are shielded and grounded on the MS side.

Most likely, you're having the same issue that most people have... if you have noise from the starter on crank, or if your grounds are corroded where they connect to the chassis/starter, you're going to get noise issues on crank, making it hard/impossible for the MS to sync.

Try cleaning up your grounds.

OK. Well, I cleaned the grounds, but got nothing. Had a buddy and forum member take a quick peek last night, but it was late. But I did do a little more testing today. Also double and tripple checked all my wiring, and it looks good.

I reverted back to an unmodified version of the msns 029y4 code. Everything was un set. A fresh out of the 'box' version.

Turn the key, and bingo, I have RPMs again. So I went through one setting at a time, and tried cranking. Set constants, EGO yadda yadda yadda. Set LED's as spark outputs, and crank. Still have rpms. The trouble starts when i change the wheel decoder setting from Msns to generic. Witch Freezes mega tune with a config error, so i have to set the decoder settings and rotary trailing.

I'm pretty much stuck.

What are your wheel decoder settings set to? (I'm not on a computer right now that lets me see load msq's easily).

How do you have the CAS wired...

Does it get RPMs briefly, with the RPM getting stuck at that value for the rest of the time you're cranking?

hey arsenio, i had a problem once where i used 47k resistors for the pull ups. That was a foolish mistake on my part but i had the same problem back then, double check to make sure you didn't make the same mistake.
