Thumbs up Megasquirt FAQ

Hey guys whats up, greetings once again from Taji Iraq (still no rotary fun except drooling on the net). I was reading another thread today, and it was talking about SAFC, first off what does that stand for ( I know im not to quick....lol). Secondly my real question is, it was talking about a megasquirt fuel control system, can anyone shed some more light on that for me.

I poked around on there website, so the way that i understand it is that you build it, and plug it into your 7 and then plug in some formulas and tune away....is that the jist of it. Has anyone used one of these, is it hard, Is it cost effective, and what was your rating of it. Would you recommend it for the money. Is it easy to install and work with.
Thanks

i havent used one on a rx-7, but ive helped build and install one on a turbo 240sx, and a 11 second turbo neon. Overall its time consuming but not a hard thing to work with. I dont see any way you could beat it for the cost. The install isnt hard if you can wire well. But someone on here sells a plug and play kit with prebuilt ready to run megasquirts. Zeal motorsports IIRC.

They're plenty easy... for this type of question, just head over to www.megasquirt.info and check out the tuning guides. You may want to check out the ms2 tuning guide as well, since that covers ignition.... (even though the ms2 doesn't run a stock rotary just yet).

Of course you should be worried. That will make you more careful!

The megasquirt isn't going to stop you from setting your advance too high or anything of that nature.
