FD gauge cluster and megasquirt

Hi guys

I would like to know if the odometer, tach and speedo would still work

I downloaded the wiring and electric diagrams, and its pretty confusing.

Most gauges can be driven from the sensors, but I think it would need the mega to send an output signal to the tach. Not sure how to make the odo and speedo work.

ANY input would be great.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure. I'd have to look at the wiring diagrams to see where each of the signals come from.

I'm fairly sure if you keep the part of the harness that connects to the transmission, the speedometer will still work. Not sure on the tach though. Is that driven from the coils?

Charge light comes from the alternator
Coolant level I think comes direct from the sensor
Oil level comes from the oil level sensor
Fuel level comes from the fuel tank unit
Water temp comes from the water thermosensor meter
Oil pressure comes from the oil pressure sensor (same sensor on FB and FC, different on FDs)

Now...
The speedometer sensor goes to the ECU, from there it goes to the odometer unit, and some sort of signal goes from this unit to the tach

I would like to know if there is a way to wire the speedometer sensor to the odometer unit without the ECU and a way to wire the tach to a megasquirt output.
