hey ken can you tell me why im getting a message saying "system cannot run specific program" in the bootloader screen i cant burn the new 2.1.0 into the ms

 

It will only burn into the MS2 chip using the batch file supplied in the release. The MS2 download program will not work for the 2.xx strain of the extra code variants.

I've found the old 1.0.2 will burn in easiest using the MS2 Download program.

 

im trying to download the 1.0.2 but when i pull up the megatune software it doesnt come up when i choose the 1.0.2 program. nothing happens.

 

the first time you burn the extra code onto the MS2, you need to use the boot loader (the little black clip that connects two pins on the daughter card, not a piece of wire in the H1 header like MS1). If it still doesnt work, try re-downloading the zip file and trying with the files in there. If that doesnt work.... i dunno.

 

ok i got the 1.0.2 code to work. now in the configurator, does the ini file saved in the megatune 2.25 megasquirt-ii.ini.ms2extra automatically open with car1

 

no, you need to first remove the .ms2extra from the end of the file name, and then set the code version to MS2 with mtcfg.

 

ok im trying to understand this. first off i downloaded the megatune software from diyautotune and whenever i try to open ms2 1.0.2 it wont open up megatune. i have 1.0.2 loaded in ms2 processor.

 

did you install the megatune software that came with 1.0.2?

 

yea but now after downloading a non ms2extra it wont burn either. for 2.1.0 it tells me i need choice.com and msdl2 and 1.0.2 it wont download in ms2 downloader correctly im trying to understand whats going.

 

well i think i figured it out. i guess i had to extract the download to a different subfolder. the folder i downloaded in was C:\Program Files\MegaSquirt\MS2_Release_Firmware and she downloaded fine. i cant wait to wire it up and start tuning the car. i got a clean signal from the cas so i have a good feeling things will turn out ok. only thing i want to add is a fan circuit to turn on and off fan and she ready to go. thanks for the help guys
