Just a recap.

Exhaust includes a cat for the mid-pipe as well as a muffler for the mid-pipe for when you go to a track event. Best of both worlds as they are easily swappable.

April bump. These have to be one of the best flowing systems for an FD that can be run with or without the catalytic converter.

I honestly can’t believe this is still FS. I’ve built plenty of similar. The one on my NA RX8 using 3” 20 Ga. (0.035” wall) T321 tubing back in 2009. Lighter than Ti and stronger too; still going strong. A lot cheaper than Ti back then though. The entire system manifold to dual tips was lighter than the OE cat-back.

bump for somebody who can see past mediocre JDM name-brand blah-blah-blah …
.

Appreciate the comment. These mufflers are top notch and really subdue some of the rotary's more unlikeable exhaust tones.

You are probably right. I ended up making 5 of these systems, only 1 with this cat option. That way I was able to get a discount on the very expensive mufflers. I thought some of the track junkies would jump on this! They were going to be made out of quality Titanium however after doing all the math the tiny weight savings was not going to be worth the significant extra cost.

Who had some FD engine parts to trade? Transmission? Diff?

Lol, gotchya. These cars are getting more expensive to track now with the engine prices shooting through the roof; they came down a little bit though. Good luck with the sale man
