my Rx7 @ 12 psi racing c6 vette

And corvettes were setup to run 91 octane, not 93. Which is why my boosted C5 runs on 91 just fine.

Lots of factors. Which C6? 05-07 C6? Automatic or 6spd? Or the new LS3 powered 08' C6 with 430hp? From a roll? From a dig? To what speed/gear? Would be a good race I think.
#155
Man, that is tough. Having ridden in one, I would say....the C6 will pull you gradually and waste you on the top end. It would be a fun race though, and could go either way...generally speaking.

I got a friend with a TT Mark IV supra. Nice car. Great for drag racing and highway runs, but it's a pig on the road courses/canyons. The motor is damn near indestructible, and loves mods. But a corvette with 200 less hp can keep up once the mods start piling on.

No a new c6 Vette would beat you. nothing agenst your car. But the vette a a better gear. it is a fare bit lighter and has more HP but it would be a pretty fun race!
#158
BTW, I still love Mark IV's. If I could afford it, I'd have a TT 6spd in my garage with my other toys. And I'd be very leery of trying to run one on the highway with my boosted c5. Just because I know the power potential of that 2JZ... I wouldn't be surprised if I got smoked on top end by those suckers.
If I can just convince them to go on a road course or something with some turns.....

i believe its a 06 c6. For sure ill record the race when we race. All our friends (who dont know **** about rx7s) say that the vette will just rape me, hopefully ill suprise them...hopefully

Yeah, if its an '06 you should, SHOULD, be able to edge him out. Don't go out there expecting to rape him. In a straight line, the base C6's run as quick if not faster than C5 Z06's. Also, since he's auto, he can run more consistantly off the line, but won't be able to launch very easily without roasting the tires, unless its a TCS equipped model. Anyway, as long as you can run better than low 13's you should be alright. Top end, however...

Actually the FD is lighter. By about 300lbs or so I believe. I'd think it would be a driver's race. I'd love to see it actually.

since when does the c6 weigh less than 3000 lbs? the c6 z06 weight is 1420 kg / 3130 lbs, nevermind that the regular c6 weight is 1440 kg / 3175 lbs.
An FD with 310 RWHP should be able to take out a stock C6 that weighs 400 LBS heavier and typically dyno @ around 330-350 RWHP (depending if it's a Z51 or not).

I really need to get an LS7 cam put in my C5 pronto. The blower just isn't the equalizer it once was.

Sorry its got intake and UD pulley too. But they're still experimenting.

426rwhp with just Headers. A cam could very easily give it 70-80rwhp depending on how aggressive you want it. The Ls3 has L92 Heads which flow significantly better than the stock LS1/LS2/LS6 heads. Combine the change in heads, with the .2litres of displacement, and the Ls3 is gaining 50rwhp over the LS2 stock for stock. Guys are averaging between 390-400rwhp on a stock LS3 because they say it's underrated and puts out more like 450bpu.
Might not do a forged LS1 motor after all when it's time for more boost.

he said 330-350 rwhp, not flywheel.
#173
the fd weight is about 27xx lbs so that makes the C6 closer to 500 lbs heavier. But to be honest the exact weight of the FD IMO is debatable, some claim a bit less than 2700 lbs others specs claim in the mid 2700's. But either way it's way lighter than a C6 vette.
oh about the HP:
stock RWHP: 339
stock RWHP: 332
both of those dynos are comparing stock C6's VS performance mods done on the same vehicle.

You are gonna have to excuse me here but what's your point? the question was about a 310 RWHP FD VS a STOCK C6? this isn't a fd is > than C6 conversation.
