NC Upgrading to 2nd Gen

I own a 83 GSL w/ a 13B N/A, Webber intake, Racing Beat headers and street ported racing exhaust, racing clutch, ran a 15.9 in the quarter ... trans went bad but i found one i'm gonna put in it once i go pick it up. been sittin a minute, so i hope it won't give me much trouble getting it going again. i realize it might. i'm about to buy a very decent 87 fc that's all good except the motor which i plan to rebuild. not sure what's in it till i get it. rebuilding will be a learning experience, but i assure you i will learn b4(during) i get into it. i'm also getting an 86 parts car with a running motor and a good trans. so i'm looking forward to getting a 2nd gen on the road. not sure how long it will take. i plan to get some pics and share with you all. i feel like i'm definitely gonna need some advice b4 it's all over with. love to see so many people available for parts, advice, information...all that. like being a part of this community. hope i find lot's to enjoy by joining this. the more i talk about it the more i want to learn about it. my prior knowledge is a bit vague, but i'm picking up fast on little things i never knew b4. just like fb, fc, and fd. little things like that i never read about, but now i know what they stand for. internet is great. until getting it, it seems word of mouth isn't half as informative. especially when no one around me really messes with them. i know about 3 rx7s within 100 miles. that's not many at all. i think i've said enough. i'll share my new project as it goes. i'm done searching...next is pick up.

How do you manage to plow through a monster of a rambling discourse like that and never actually get around to introducing yourself by name?

um....i really don't know how to use this yet. went to that link. i think i posted something up there already too,but i wouldn't know how to find it. i'm lost for real!!! haha!. . .trial and error i guess. by the way mario, my name is lucas. i'm 29, live in ahoskie,nc. so where should i post my car pics? i should be kicked in the *** cause i took out the bad trans and it's ruined where it sat outside useless. and it's taken me some years to get around to finding another trans. hope i can remember where the damn wires go. never liked mechanic work, but for some reason i'm feeling inspired and anxious to start some mechanical projects. could be a slight midlife crises or something of that nature. hahaha! this should be interesting, but i won't hesitate to ask for some help. got in touch with a guy in roanoke rapids who works on em. he said he'd give me a hand if i needed it. so that's cool. hope to figure this forum thing out soon. thanks guys! (what does quote message mean?)

You don't edit your title....what do you want it to say? You've got all the rough pieces there to put together a gem of a 1stgen, why would you want a heavy old 2ndgen??

good looking project. that engine has been rebuilt. wonder if it was a stock rebuild or if it got ported. looks like the bra has rubbed the paint off the driver fender. and get rid of that scoop.

NC got my new to me 2nd gen today!

thanks you guys! haha...don't like the scoop eh? haha! i was letting a friend make payments, and when he couldn't pay i got it back and there it was. i like it ok i guess. but no, it's not stock. and i'm not sure, but i want to believe that it has been at least street ported. got my 2nd gen today!!! here's the pics! i'm stoked about it. it has no compression and it's non-turbo but what a gorgious car! gotta find a rebuild kit next. once i get my dad's mach1 project out of there, i can start mine. it turns over, just no compression at all. a little rusty here and there from sitting, but nothing visible or major. just metal parts here and there. lots of potential!!! would love to do a turbo II upgrade on it or something, but i know stock is way more valuable in the long run, plus, it actually still is! i'll keep you posted.
