Hey guys,
Been trolling this site for about 6 months or so. Love reading up on everything. I was the owner of a 2000 m5 with 65k miles but always wanted a two-door sports car, rear-wheel drive, and have always loved fd's. If you don't know there aren't many fd's in New England and if there are they are never for sale. So I went on a craigslist search all over the country to find one. Found a Banzai built Black 93 for sale. After a month of contact with a seller, agreeing on a price,a one way flight to detroit, a rental car to Toledo, a puke inducing inspection and test drive, I returned to Boston after a 12 hour drive in the rental car. Broke my spirits plus lost about $700 in travel and other expenses. After that ordeal, maybe some would have quit but I was even more determined.
A month later saw a CYM for sale in Santa Barbara. Worked on by Mazdatrix. I just put good-faith that this seller was legit and after some haggling, just took the plunge and bought sight-unseen. Waited 3 weeks for it to be shipped and it came almost just as described. Have been playing with her ever since, finally had her re-tuned to be safe after my mechanic went through her and have to say im happy and already have some things planned. She will be re-painted this winter after some goodies are added. Stay tuned.

Was really angry cause I only got 2 runs in. It was a great night to race too. Not too hot and barely any cars. Haven't had the car at WOT before and ran a 13.52 with a 2.187 60' time. Trapped at 104. I only realized after that I was on low boost setting.
Second run I spun all of first and second and ran 14.1 and trapped at 105.5 with a 2.55 60' time. I really wanted to practice with this car as I don't have any experience with it but my coolant hose started leaking. Seems my intercooler piping was rubbing the hose near the top and split it. Luckily we cut the top of the pipe and clamped it lower and limped home.
I think with the times in the 60' and the trap speed, this car has 13 flat in its sight maybe high 12's in a perfect run. I'm just not familiar enough with it yet.

You have any pictures of this car we supposedly built in Toledo? I only ask because there seems to be a quite a few cars being advertised with the sellers saying we built the car or that the car was my personal FD. This of course it the seller just trying to sell the car, in many cases we have never even seen the car in our shop. I am sure at this point you have figured out that CL has a lot of BS.
Nice to see you got yourself a CYM.

I believe it was the car you built but way back in 2008. It is the 93 black touring owned by Jeff from Detroit. It hadthe bugeye lights. Single turbo. I'll dig up the pictures that I got from the kid who bought it from jeff. The funny story is I originally spoke to Jeff when he was selling it around new years in Detroit. When I finally had the money he had sold it. 3 months later the kid who bought it ended up selling it in Toledo. It looked to be the same car you guys had built but in really bad shape. What a shame because if it had been maintained I saw a truly awesome machine.
Again have fun with the new car.

It was that car. I read up on the entire build. Loved what you did to it but it's true, been through too many hands over the years. The guy I originally talked to late last year owned it in Detroit. Then the kid who bought it from him was selling it in Toledo 4 months later. It was in bad shape. Who tries to sell a car to a guy flying in and doesn't even bother to wash it or clean the interior? A punk kid, that's who. The moment I saw it when I got there I was disenchanted. The second I drove it I knew i had a long ride back to Boston in a rental car. I crossed my fingers that it would lookand feel similar to the car you built, but by no means anywhere close anymore.

I believe they are rare. If what i read here was correct, they were only offered in 1993 r1 model.
When it goes for paint I will change some things up. front bumper yes, not sure about a spoiler, and not sure about a hood. Stay tuned.
