Searching for my dad’s 1993 CYM RX-7 FD R1
Hello everybody my name is Reece, and I know this is a long shot but I figured this forum is probably the only place in the whole of the internet that could help find my dad’s old car. And I apologize if this isn’t the right place to post this, im new to this.
Long story short; my dad’s stories about his CYM R1 is what got me into cars and specifically rotarys, and I promised myself one day I would buy him another one as he had to sell his due to financial problems back in the 90s. I know only 350 of these cars exist, and i’ve been endlessly searching to see if his exact car is still out there somewhere.
The only information I have of this car is:
It could possibly have a rebuilt/salvage title, as it was bought without the engine at a salvage auction in Hawaii.
It had a 13b from an automatic FD swapped in.
When it was sold it had been repainted in the same competition yellow mica, or a yellow roughly similar.
And my dad sold it to a private buyer over in Arizona roughly around 1997.
Other than that I don’t have the VIN or any other information about the car. Any help would be appreciated, and thank you for taking the time to read my post!
