S5 N/a in a Locost
Hello, I have the remains of a '91 N/A which I am putting into a Locost. I am in the Chicago suburbs. The car will have the entire RX7 running gear with a custom intake and exhaust. It will be powered by the Megasquirt2 which I have just finished and am getting used to. It will be another year or so before I will be trying to start it. With so many things new and untried, it will be an experience. This is my first rotary and it will be a trial-by-fire experience.

Years ago there was a kit called the Rotus which was loosely based on the Lotus Seven and powered by the RX7 engine. There are some "kits" available, but the engine choice is up to the builder. Most of us are building from scratch based on one of several books on the subject. They have generic designs which have to be modified to suit your desires. My build log is at the LocostUSA site:

if you, or anybody wants to take a look-see. There are several of us using the rotary as power plants and running gear. There really isn't much left from the RX7 when you decide to build one of these. In my case the engine control was just not right in a car less than 1/2 the weight of the RX7 and custom intake and exhaust. The Megasquirt was the logical choice for me.
