I’ve noticed this car sitting in a drive way for a couple years and finally decided to pull the trigger. It’s in rough shape but not terrible. PO said it ran before it sat for 5+ years (tag on the plate says 2003) so I started basically gutting the interior to clean up and tried to get the motor to break free after putting penetrating oil in spark plug holes. I also have MMO but couldn’t get it in. Any suggestion/ advise helps!
Nice find! If you don't mind me asking, how much did it set you back? Reason I ask is cause I find myself in a similar situation. I'm real close to pulling the trigger but worried about how bad the body is rust-wise.

truthfully I gave the guy $80 for the car and $100 for a tow straight into my garage. The rust isn’t terrible. The worst part is the passenger seat rear mounting point is pretty rusty so will need to be fixed for safety reason obviously. Other than that maybe two small rust holes on the lower portion below the door.
Thanks, and great deal! The one i'm looking at the guy wants 400 for. If I had to compare i'd say its roughly in the same state as yours and this is without me looking at the undercarriage. If i pick it up, it will be a dedicated track car so i'll be gutting it out and liquidating anything that isn't needed. Good luck with your build!
I'm trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel but that looks like a scrapper to me. 4 lug base model that someone added a sunroof too, repainted once, rekt interior, etc. If you can get it to run put it in a demo derby.

don’t plan to keep the rotary unless it runs and even then only until it gives me a problem. Also if someone added the sunroof they did a hell of a job. We’ll see how it plays out like I already said I only paid $80 for the car. Didn’t plan to keep the stock seats either or most of the interior at that
Pressed the clutch pedal down to try and turn the car over and nothing. Drained all the nasty gas, hooked up a good battery, pulled the starter to check it (it works) and couldn’t figure out why power was not going to the starter I checked under the dash behind the clutch pedal and noticed the “switch” behind the pedal was not being pushed in by the pedal anymore so I reached down and pushed it in and cranked and she turned over. Going to get new plugs and fuel filter and then see if there is power to the FP
So I have everything back together new plugs, wires, gas, cleaned the tank. Got a new fuel pump mixed the gas about a half ounce to one gallon just to be safe... car turns over but will not fire up. There is no prime from the pump when I turn the ignition? Any help?

See if it will run on starting fluid. Did you change the fuel filter?
What a find!! Check to see if your main relay is operating properly. You may have to pull the cover off and ensure the contacts move freely and are not stuck. Have you tested to see if you're getting 12V to the fuel pump when cranking the engine?

no haven’t checked voltage but there is power there when not cranking also I can now feel the pump when cranking. So it’s getting fuel I can smell it also. Just double checked for spark on L and T that’s both there but still nothing.
Does anyone know how much these 13b’s are worth running / for rebuild?
Depends on if you're going to rebuild it yourself or have someone with knowledge and experience do it. If the main parts need to be replaced (rotors, housing, eccentric shaft, etc), which engine closing kit you plan using.
I would say the average if you do it yourself would be around 2k or less if you do it yourself but again the variables could put you well over that budget easily.

any idea what the motor may be worth? Price running vs price not running?
I bought a running 86k mile 13B out of an 87 with trans for $500 last summer. Used it in my 88 SE that I restored and documented here on the forum. Been running great honestly.
Is it just that you're not getting any spark? You'll need to test both coils and you'll want to check the crank angle sensor as well. As far as fuel delivery, I had an issue with my injectors being stuck. I had fuel to the rail but they wouldn't open, allowing fuel into the engine. I put them in my sonic cleaner and then blew them out with compressed air. Then I applied 12V with test leads on and off quickly and they eventually freed up. The gas had caramelized in the injectors I would guess. You may want to remove yours and bench test them to make sure they're working. You can do that by applying 12V to one side and a ground to the other. They should click and you'll feel the click in your hand if you're holding the injector.

it has spark I’ve check multiple times. I have a feeling one of the injectors is stuck OPEN because it just cranks and cranks and cranks but no sign of even trying to fire. But a very strong smell of gas but no leaks. Fuel pump is working, there’s spark, I double checked all the connections I could find and or think of and just nothing. You have to pull the plenum off to get the primary’s? Do you need a new intake gasket if you do so? Any way to check/ fix a stick injector? Appreciate the response
