Race car resurrection
Greetings RX-7 club!
I am the proud new owner of a 1980 SA22C RX-7
I want to try something different, being a former VW guy myself (recently sold mk3 vr6, and currently DD'ing a Passat)
Anyway, the rx7 was previously used in SCCA racing, and was owned by a former Le Man team manager. It has all the bells and whistles (seat, cage, suspension, exhaust) its just been sitting for the last 6 or so years, and was the victim of a small engine fire (remove carb plate). However it is my intention to rewire the car, sort out all its bugs and give it a chance to hit the track once more. I think thats a pretty noble cause for building an old SA
Once more, i'd like to introduce myself and my car (pics will follow) to your awesome website, and I hope to learn plenty here
-Patrick

Im set for a full wallet massacre, but hopefully it wont be too bad. Since this was a race car, it has a great deal of sweet parts, some however will have to be replaced for their modern equivalent. This is as much as i can remember, and im sure im missing some stuff out:
ENGINE:
Fully rebuilt and bridgeported 12a with all new seals and gaskets, Racing Beat full exhaust, Mikuni carb, Racing Beat oil cooler, unknown header (possibly custom fabrication)
CHASSIS:
Koni 5-way adjustable shocks (springs unknown), racing beat sway bar and upper strengthening bar, 'upgraded' pads and discs, poly bushings all round
EXTERIOR:
Various bits from body kits, custom hood scoop, very custom rust
INTERIOR: Corbeau racing seat, G-Force harness, roll cage, VDO gauges and stripped all round
Since this is my first rotary build, im glad i joined the club. Very insightful. All it really needs to run is a brake booster and to be completely rewired. Its not at all a street vehicle, but i would like to take it to Taco Bell every once in a while
cheers
