New to rotary TX

Hello everyone

Recently purchased a (non running) 93 RX7. I figured I should join up here to learn a few things and to possibly share my general car knowledge as well.

Been tinkering with cars for a little while, this is my first rotary however. My last project was a j32(Acura V6) swapped Integra, was the first v6 swapped integra, and I Have owned everything from Honda's to Toyota's (AE86's and Supra) and even a couple of Fox body mustangs in the mix. I work for an engine company so I have a good knowledge base in just about every make the only thing we dont touch as you can guess is rotarys....

car will be a project but im in the middle of getting it started in it's current form just because. body is damn near perfect, interior needs some love and those wheels will be the first thing to go once it runs. but all in all, for what I paid I think I have a good starting point for something very sick in the future.

here are some pics of the last car

the FD

Thanks bud, The DC was really fun. The looks you got while driving it, especially here in dallas, were great.

I actually managed to get the FD to run this weekend, Still a long way to go. engine sounds really odd.
I'll post up a video later when I get home and maybe get some opinions on it.

Thats a pretty sick Teg, nice job with it. If you put as much effort into a rx7 as you did that car, im sure you are going to love it.

I'm in the same boat. Just joined today, with my new (to me) 1979 FB. No engine. No transmission. But a straight and (relatively) rust-free texas body.

That's an interesting hood on that thar first car. What exactly "drove" you to pick up a non-running FD? Deal of the century? Still, glad you saved another RX-7! Thanks for taking the time to register and welcome aboard to RX-7 Club!

Haha thanks, sometimes you have to cut weird holes for things to fit...lol

As for the FD, I did get it for a really good deal IMO. I bought it being told it was some weird wiring stuff and injector issue but, assuming the worst ( blown seals ect). Ended up only taking a week or so of fixing some wring issues and replacing a coil pack and map sensor to get it running. Now im at a pretty tough crossroad on where to go next. Considering I bought the car with the intention of putting a V8 in it... and the fact that the car has a few other weird issues.

Nice FD! I wonder how quick the integra moved with the v6 swap,,,,,mad props for originality!
It moved fairly well. 1-3 were a tire roast fest. But it was slightly faster than my 300hp turbo GSR setup I had before.

Welcome. Nice fd not feeling the wheels but to each their own.
Thanks. I hate these wheels.... I'd glady trade someone for some stockers...lol

Probably, It has been a while since I made it out.

Welcome! I'm in the same boat...trying to learn. I just got here to the forum about 2 days ago - don't know where my introduction post went but, eh. Anyway, I'm in Houston and am pretty darned jealous that you were able to pick up an FD like that. That's what I'm trying to find now, without having to sell my house to get one. Good luck getting her built!
