Wink New owner but not my first, from Summerland BC

Good morning,

New owner from Summerland, BC. Purchased a 1985 5 Letter from a friend in excellent condition. Maybe some of you recognize the car as it has a little history to it. . Lots of little minor things to do to get it up to where I want it but I will be making a build thread to follow my journey.

Background: This is my 4th first gen, and hopefully my last I have been looking for a 1st gen in this condition for a while, something I can keep until I die.

Welcome!! The SE looks to be in great shape! Would love to see more pictures of the car and to know some of its history! Looks like a non U.S. spec car due to the headlamp washers. Or possobly that headlight washers were added some time in the car's life.

It is in fact in excellent shape. Zero rust or body damage. It was repainted in 2003/2004 with Candy Apple Metallic but it looks like more of a Rose color. I purchased it from a friend who didn't have enough time to work on it as he has many other projects. I had been looking for one for years in this good of condition and he finally convinced me to spend the extra and just buy his.

It is a Canadian model bought here in British Columbia, was stolen around 2001 so the restoration in 2003/2004 was essentially just a full paint job and interior clean.

I do have a build thread that I will be slowly adding to and including more pictures as I go

If I remember the car correctly, it was a low mileage example and was stolen and spray painted multiple colors. It was recovered around 02 or 03. Didn't it belong to another forum member here? I remember reading about the car and seeing pictures of it painted multiple colors.

Bingo! You win

Yes the other forum member was on here, the other was my friend I bought it off of. Technically I'm the 3rd owner. And yes it was painted on the outside and the inside was painted with washable paint

Haha thats amazing!!! I think about that car now and again! Wondered where it had ended up. Do you have any pictures of the car while it was still painted after it was stolen?

Here are a couple pictures from the first owner. I think if they was me there taking the pictures and it was mine at the time, I would probably cry. Very sad sight. They did a wonderful job restoring it though
