New from Nashville
I'm now almost an old fart, but before I became a crotchedy old fart, I was once kinda fun. In '78, two weeks after graduating college, I put a deposit down on a RX7. Then was moved to Nashville. Put another deposit down. The Model I wanted (white, with the black and white interior, with a sun roof) never materialized - so found one somebody had to get rid of so I had one in early '79. Boy I loved that car! Went from driving a pickup to a roller skate. Got married in June of '79 and spent our honeymoon driving the car back home to Texas and down into Mexico. I think my wife may have married me because of the car, Now 32+ years later, she recently mentioned that it would be nice to own another. So, today I started looking. None around here I can find. Unfortunately in my youth, I never had the money to buy a car and fix it up like some of my buddies did (I did do a dune buggy though). so I am not very mechanically inclined - but I do know my way around a hood - just have never done anything serious. I have a buddy that just bought a '60 vette in tourqoise that is da bomb and since he's wealthy and I'm not I can't match him, so I now have an itch to surprise my wife with an early RX7 like we had when we first got married. Any help and advice any of you may have as what to watch out for, what to avoid, where to buy one, etc.... Thanking everyone in advance.
