with that being said - i'm STILL interested, even as I've learned more, in picking up a jdm motor and trans, meaning that i'll be fine with just a roller for the rx7, just so it can go along with updated ecu, etc. I'd like to keep the car stock minus reliability mods, and maybe start from the chassis up to stitch weld/remove rust etc etc.
i dont want the jdm motor for the 10hp or w/e, just thing it would be good to have the most up to date, whatever quiet things they've changed. would have been great if the motor was designed not to consume oil but i guess it's a small deal

do you guys have a rough estimate for cost building all this up? especially for people who have done this before? getting a rolling chassis, spot welding/rust removal, 99 spec body parts, full paint, and then powertrain and interior -
