Hey all, finally signed up to the forums. Been lurking around here for years now, but had more to say on Ausrotary until now! The FD3S is a tad forgotten about there.

First off, my name is James. Ive owned a few rotors and a couple months ago i finally bought the car ive been after for many years. Heres my rotary background.

I orignally bought a rotor just to see what they were like. I go through cars like no tomorrow, and being a mechanic, i was always intrigued by the rotary. Down here we have restrictions on certain performance vehicles when your on your provisional license, so a turbo rotor was out of the question. Next best thing i found was a 1986 FC3S with a 13B bridgeport, so i snapped her up and fell in love. There was something about daily driving a complete pig of a car that i just loved.

Unfortunately for me, the law enforcement down here seems more concerned about modified vehicles than rapists, and my Rx7 ended up getting pumped and sent through the EPA. a 13b bridgy will never pass, so she ended up getting stripped and sent to scrap. The thing that annoyed me the most about this is i was at the scene of an accident helping someone out, and got handed the defect notices and epa notice while my car wasnt even running. They pre-filled the inspection forms then grabbed my details as i was getting into the car to leave.

Following my pretty crappy luck, i played around with a few more cars here and there before i came across an original owner Mazda 808. The 13b bridgy from my RX7 got swapped for a 12a J-port and the 808 project was underway. The car later got swapped for a mint KE30 corolla and was only recently finished by the new owner.

Another 20 months passed without a rotor, i had my first child, played with WRX's and Silvias again for a while, then the itch came back and i decided it was time to buy a rotor that i intend on keeping for once. Choice was either RX3, or FD3S. Due to having my daughter, decided on the later of the two. ABS, better steering, braking, etc.
Looked around for quite a while, found nothing but overpriced crap, and i was being really specific with my search. Wanted a sunroof model, but needed a back seat for the occasional times i had to transport my daughter. This is a near impossible task, however i finally achieved it a couple months ago.

She is a 1992 model S6 FD3S single turbo with full S8 body and some goodies/fruit happening. Have some plans for her, but they are fair minor. Ill post a build thread on her in the future, but for now here are a couple pics of her:
