I should have introduced myself before my question! I got interested in RX7's 20 years ago. I was Racing a 914 Porsche in SCCA, in between race's constantly fixing something, or re-tuning the engine... the guy's in the paddock next to me were sitting in lawn chairs having a picnic! After half a year of this I finally walked over to see what this car was... that no one ever seemed to work on... and always finished a race...humm a rotary motor?? At the end of that year,(and 3 motor rebuilds), I sold the 914 and built an 84 RX7 GSL-SE. 2 years later I won the ITS championship, then we won a 12 hour endurance race at Sebring, sold the 84 and built an 89 RX7 and won 2 more ITS championships! What a great car, incredible handling, great brakes, and a bullet-proof motor! I had 15 years of hard work, fun racing and made a lot of good friends along the way. I bought a used street 93 base model in 96 and have spent some time converting it into an R1, refinishing interior trim, new paint etc. The car is beautiful to look at... fun to drive...and it's a hoot to have people come up to it and appreciate it's beauty as much as I do...."what is that...a Viper?"!!!! So needless to say I love RX7's...any year...they're all great!!
