New FD owner, Alberta
just bought an FD for a decent price, it is running but in need of a rebuild, also needs an inspection for registration and insurance. plan is to rebuild the engine in a few weeks and make basic upgrades like silicone vacuum lines as I put it back together. plan once its running is to run it in some time attack events and stuff at the local tracks. once its registered do some reliability and performance mods, probably FMIC bigger rad exhaust and fuelling mods to match.
name is Nelson and I'm from Edmonton Alberta

The FD i bought is JDM, its burning oil so i got it for pretty cheap. it also needs a rebuild so I'm gonna strip everything out starting next month and fix any problems i find as well as rebuild the engine myself, turbos will be rebuilt as well if they need it. car still needs to pass an out of province inspection so i probably won't mod it to much till after its legal and registered. i might just do some reliability mods and hold off on the power stuff till later.
Still pretty dirty but here are some pictures.
The wing needs to come off, that's for sure

They arn't exacly my taste, but this is gonna be a budget track car and from what I understand these are decent light rims. So unless someone has something that I like more to trade, these will probably work just fine.

It's got a couple small dings and the paint is alright, the plan was to tryy out bodywork and painting on the rx7 before I try to do it on my favorite project. It'll be a good deal as long as the housings, irons and rotors are in good enough shape to use with the rebuild

It's gonna be a budget track car, I don't plan on butchering the looks, I'll probably loose the wing but I'm not gonna spend more money than I need too, probably v mount setup and a mostly stock setup at first. Maybe some changes in turbos and some tuning and fuel changes later

still pulling the car apart got almost everything ready to pull the engine out, just engine mounts fuel lines and probably some small crap I can't think of. just waiting for my friend to return my engine hoist. starting to look more like the turbo was the problem, there is tons of oil in and around the back turbo. with how much crap that you have to do to pull it I'll still rebuild the engine since its already over 100000Km. I'll replace all the vacuum lines and crap as they are virtually plastic now. I'll either try to pick up a decent set of used turbo's or rebuild mine.
I'll probably try to find some non flip headlights to install as I put stuff back together, just cause one motor wasn't working and I'd like to simplify the car a little bit and as far as I'm concerned motorised headlights are not needed. I'm gonna call some shops about an OOP inspection and see whether they want it stock or not. if they don't care I'll probably upgrade some stuff like rad and inter cooler while I'm putting everything back together maybe V mount.

I second this, i got a 1997 RS from japan for 11k imported car had 47xxx km when i got it, totally stock less a bodykit (Veilside VSD1) and a boostgauge. theres no way i could find a car over here for that price in that condition.

I seem to be able to find FD's in the states for 7-9k in pretty good shape, just higher mileage...which doesn't bother me for the plans I have with the car..just depends on what you want I suppose..
