CA New 1993 Base Owner

Hello! Recently purchased a 1993 Base from out east and transported it to Southern California. Working on refreshing the original wheels, all hoses, rubber items and consumables and thankful to have such a great resource to support through the process.

I also love the look and appreciate the effort the Mazda team put into reducing their weight. I was surprised to see good tire availability for the 16" wheels as well, so that's an added bonus.

It's been a challenge to get them cleaned up as there were years of embedded contaminants in the barrels. I was really hoping to avoid media blasting and refinishing, but we've exhausted everything up to acid at this point so that may end up being the next step. Now if other things on the car would stop breaking we'd be able to make some progress!

We're actually up that way fairly frequently for track events. I'll keep an eye on schedules and if we align, try to convince my wife to do a sports car road trip once the FD has been fully refreshed.
