Just bought my first rotary

Hi everyone my names eddie , i just bought my first rotary powered car & i absolutley love it ! Its a 1988 rx7 convertible turbo , i will start will changing all oils plugs and leads , i think it needs a tune as my garage stinks as soon as i start it and my jumper smeels like fuel after i have driven it for a while lol , so my goal is to achieve a nice weekender , maybe achieve about 250kw max , what would be the best thing to spend some money on , upgrade ecu and fuel line , fuelpump and bigger injector and

a tune ? It already has a exhaust on it with no cat ,

Welcome!!! Thats a very nice looking car! You can tune to tonrun a shade less rich but the smell in your garage and on your clothes won't go away. You have an aftermarket exhaust that likely has no catalytic converter and having that setup will always stink up a garage when the engine is idling. Even with a cat my RX-8's can still put a stink on my garage..nothing like my RX-7's though. When the engine is cold,, my 1980 will burn your eyes if you stand behind it closely when its idling.

typically an programmable ecu is the first mod rx7 owners do after all other reliability and maintenance are completed. me personally i run a stock ecu and have no complaint to the stock power levels of my FD and put my money towards making the car as in top condition as i can. paint and bodywork, replacement interior, audio, wheels, coilovers etc. welcome

Congratulations on the FC

I also just bought my dream car last week. New to the RX-7 and the forums but looking forward to digging into the wealth of knowledge here

I was actually home with Covid, but not really sick so I was outback quarantining with some beer and a bonfire and text a good friend who just happen to still have his FD. I shot him a drunken offer and he took it. He needed to sell and I needed to buy.
