Introduction of Eduardo Santos from Portugal
Hello everybody.
My name is Eduardo Santos and I'm 27 years old (really old) at the moment.
I'm from Portugal, a little country in Europe do you know?
I love cars since I was a kid. I don't know why or how that happened, but I guess it has somewhat to do with the fact of my father also liking cars & airplanes (he worked at the portuguese air force). Sometimes, instead of going to the street and play with other kids, I stayed at home and read car magazines. At the age of 9, I already knew how the braking system and the ABS worked, I knew how traction control worked and the variable geometry turbo and the variable admission system, and many other stuff...
I love cars. The only thing that I like more than cars, it's women.
At the moment I'm studying Informatics Engineering at the faculty but I also do some jobs as an Informatics Technician and also as a car mechanic.
I took my driver's license in 2004, but I was only able to buy my first car in 2008. And I bought a 1989 Opel Corsa 1.2 S (if you don't know the european brand, you can search for the British brand, which is: Vauxhall Nova, it's the same thing...). It's a good overall, reliable, simple, cheap car, and I like it very much. Here's a small picture of my car, just in case you wanna see what I'm on about:
I think it was the best choice I could've done to give my first steps in driving.
However, being a car lover and dreaming of great sports cars, I wanted more. I was constantly reading the used car ads, and some day (October 2011) I saw an ad which was this (I only have a small preview of it because I didn't registered the full ad at that day):
It was a Mazda RX-7 FC! Which was one of my dream cars as I was a teenager. And it was at an awesomely low price! It was perfect!
I bought it (November 2011), and I was so overfilled with happiness and joy that I couldn't believe that it actually happened! Still today I hardly believe that it happened. It's a dream come true. I will try not to go in detail about the car, because I believe that it's something I should keep for the topic about the car itself.
Thing is... I found this forum a few months ago, and it seems to be the best out there to learn and get information about this car. I did not understand a thing about wankel rotary engines (I do know some things now), and I did not understand a big deal about Mazdas (I do know some things now).
Well, this is my presentation. I'm sorry if it's too long, but I really wanted you people to understand how and why I'm here.
By the way: I did read the "Rules of the New Member Section. Read BEFORE posting", section, and let tell you. Whoever wrote that, has some sense of humor :P
One thing I would like to ask you, is: I think that this forum is from the USA. I'm right or am I wrong?

Yes, this forum is based in the US, but we have users from all over the world. I would like to make it to Portugal some day. The closest I have been to it is Madrid, but maybe I will make it to Portugal in the future.

Hello gsl-se addict. Thank you very much for the welcoming. I've never been to Madrid but I know some people who did and it seems to be a nice place.
Yes please, come to Portugal some day, we have some nice beaches around here, and quite some interesting monuments if you like to visit those sort of things.
If you ever come here to Portugal, let me know and I'll show you my RX-7 FC.
