Hi! I did a thing.
Good evening Fellas,
Picked up this gem on BaT:
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1994-mazda-rx-7-64/
I can remember the day the first time I laid eyes on an FD. I was with my parents at the dealer when they were finalizing the deal on a 90-something Mazda Navajo (explorer sport). While they were talking I was only 10-11 or so and I was smitten with how good this car looked then. Throughout high school I wanted on but it was not realistic. I bought an 02 WRX and figured getting an FD would never materialize. every now and then I would take a peak at Autotrader, Craigslist, and Offerup until recently....
I actually went to take a look at this FD which in photos looked good. 99 spec front end etc...what's not to like. Then I viewed it and I didn't believe it was worth the originally asking price of $49,500. Things happen for a reason

Good things happen to those who wait I suppose.
Now I'm here wondering what direction I should take. A part of me wants to keep it in a bubble, another part of me wants to do some tasteful gentleman mods and make it my own. Nothing that is not reversible of course.
It will not be my daily and will likely only drive it to Cars and Coffee. I also have a 97 landcruiser, a 2013 Audi S6 with a stage 1 tune and a 71 FJ40 that's actually for sale. Oh, I also have a 2019 Triumph Speed Triple RS that doesn't get ridden too often as of late.
Anyhow, tell me what would you guys do. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum!! Quite a nice FD you picked up! If the car were mine, I would keep it mostly original. The most value is in the originality and I just prefer the car that way. I would likely add an R1 rear spoiler because I prefer the look of it over a bare hatch. Maybe a Racing Beat exhaust. Other than that, I wouldn't personally do a thing other than enjoy the car. But its your car and you do what makes you happy.

Thank you. I was thinking of a the dual tip racing beat exhaust. I may get rid of the pre cat to remove some heat and then I'll probably do some of the mods to correct some of the cooling deficiencies.
The car does need tires right away but I'd like to get wheels too. RPF1's look good on everything and the cost is reasonable but I'd like to maybe do something you don't see too often like some kinesis wheels. No bigger than a 17".
