Hello, My name is John Martin. I live in Citrus Heights, CA(Sacramento). I own a 1985 RX-7 purchased from my ex. I have done some minor repairs to it - replaced water pump, new spark plugs, new high tension wiring, cap, rotor, new trailing igniter, new gas shocks/cylinders for back window, fixed substantial oil leak near oil cooler(what a pain, but, all good now). Replaced control link for front headlight so that headlights now raise and lower together. My finacee thinks that is really cool! Enough for now.

Introduction
Hi all. My name is John Martin. I am here to have fun and learn about rotary engines and all things RX7. I have a 1985 RX7 with a 12A engine. Everything on the car is stock - purchased from my soon to be ex-wife for $1,000.00. I know that many, many owners are here for high-performance reasons. Having said that, I do not fall into this category. I mainly would like to be able to repair and maintain the car myself - kind of a DIYer among DIYers. I just bought a new clutch kit for the car and am currently scouring the Internet for information on Wideband Oxygen Sensors / Kits in hopes that I may be able to use one as a poor man's alternative for an Exhaust Gas Analyzer. At this point, it is not clear to me if it will even be practical. With all of the Air Injection used on this car and a total of 3 Catalytic Converters - very confusing. Thanks for reading.

Hi all. Thanks for the Welcome messages and positive comments. No pictures to post right now - but thanks for asking. @ Cookboy - if you are going to remove any SMOG equipment or anything that even LOOKS like SMOG stuff, you may want to consider storing it. We never know what the future will bring - you may want to move to a state with strict emissions laws - or someone from such a state may be the person that eventually buys your ride. In California, your vehicle has to pass both a Visual Inspection and an Emissions test - and will fail if any SMOG stuff is missing, even if the Emissions are good. And just so it is clear - I am not your boss or your Internet Caretaker. If you're old enough to own a car, you're old enough to make those decisions yourself. Just wanted to clarify some of the possible consequences. Take care.
