HI Hello from Hawaii!!!

i just wanna start by saying that i havent bought an rx7 yet but i have my mind set on one that my friend will sell me. she is a beautiful 87 base model s4 shell! she has always been garage kept so there is only a small rust spot on the passenger door. lots of dings and a dent on the driver fender but overall she is a perfect candidate including that its hard to find a great fc in hawaii due to salt air and humidity. i really want to convert her to an s5 tII. im getting the deal for around $500. here in hawaii its a great deal. ive got a 95 240sx right now that im gonna have to sadly let go but i found a new passion for rotaries and i hope to share some stories and hear some in the near future. some tech advice will be greatly appreciated since i am jumping into this new world. so the first Q that i have is... whats the difficulty level of putting a 91 13bt into my soon to be 87 fc? im getting the motor from japan, trans, harness, turbo, ecu, manifolds, etc... and im picking up a custom fit driveshaft from a local machine shop since the car wont come with a driveshaft. im also looking into picking up a ps rack and pinion and misc ac components that i will need. im also picking up the neccesary gauges for the turbo motor. now Q 2... i want a quiet exhaust for my fc turbo and i was looking at the apexi noir and the hks silent hi-power. any other suggestions or am i on target with my two choices? thanx for the welcome and advice u give me. i will soon be on with more Q's and just to chat

Sorry think I posted this in wrong section but I did add a few tech Q's in here. Hope u guys can help me out. Buying my fc in january! Soon as my s14 goes, the 13bt will come in. Soo stoked!

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Doing an S5 swap into an S4 is difficult. Doing a JDM S5 swap into a USDM S4 is even more difficult with the wiring being on the wrong side and what not. Your best bet would be to just swap in a USDM S4 TII harness and engine. Find a wrecked one and just take the stuff from that.

Thanks for the heads up! I got a friend that's certified in electronics and wiring cars and cut harnesses is his specialty! I think I may be able to pull it off since finding any fc3s in hawaii is very difficult. I really don't want to wait around for a s4 tII to pop up because ill be waiting for years! I'm also part of a custom fabrication shop and a machine shop so I hope I will have the neccessities to pull this off. Great advice tho and thank u. I would do it ur way if it was easier to find!
