Hello everyone, Cali newbie here
Hi guys, I'm completely new to the rx7 or classic cars for that matter. A couple of buddies have convinced me to look for a classic car and after about a year of researching and looking around I'm pretty set on a FB preferably a GSL SE (since the 13b engine seems preferable). I'm currently looking at a car that seems pretty close to what I want. My two concerns are that it has over 170000 miles on it, and it's registered out of state so I'm worried about passing smog in Cali. I will have a few thousand dollars to throw at it if I decide to pull the trigger since the car itself is well under my budget. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks!
Oh btw I live in LA and I'm interested in Films and photography as my username would suggest. Been on here for a couple of days and you guys seem like a pretty chill group of people. Looking forward to actually joining this community when I buy the car!

Some states have been flagged as being prone to fraudulent registrations. Perhaps look into that.
Meeting smog regs can be a real challenge.
Perhaps more so for a car with 170,000 clicks,
With that many clicks you may want as much maintenance history as possible.
In any event you perhaps best plan for significant refurbishment costs, including, possibly, a new motor in the not too distant future.
