hello
So I joined this forum because I'm on the hunt for an FC RX7. I went and looked at an 89 gxl(blue) and it looked ok except when I was inspecting the coolant over flow it smelled like gas inside. So I was trying to post a question but I didn't have enough posts. I was browsing one of the sections just absorbing info and opinions and someone mentioned something about gas smell as a result of a bad coolant o-ring from overheating. So now I don't really need to ask the question anymore and I'm glad I didn't buy the car. Thanks rx7club forum
! I'm sure I'll find a good one eventually. I'm kinda of playing with the idea of an mr2 but I think the rx7 would be a little bit easier for me to work on. I have a daily driver, so this would be a secondary car for enjoyment. I haven't totally ruled out an FA or FB either. I want something that would be streetable but also capable on the track(if only it could be the ultimate at both!obviously impossible). My only concern with the FA/FB is the live rear axel on imperfect (concave or convex) road surface. I am probably over thinking it. anyways I'll stop rambling now. Oh yeah, I'm Kekoa from seattle, wa.

thanks for the reply
. th FA and FB are still in consideration. If anyone has some input on why I should get an FA/FB over an FC I'd love to hear it! The reasons I'm leaning toward the FC are; It looks cool(not to say the FA/FB are ugly). I'ts newer and easier to find one that is in good shape and not molested. I would think that parts are easier to come by(I guess there were more FA/FB's though). I think the suspension is more adept on uneven roads( Seattle's road are bumpy and have many a pot hole). My friend had one a while back with some kind of porting, exhaust, intake, probably other stuff. Anyway, it was really surprisingly fast and left a deep impression on me( the torque on a downshift would throw me back in my seat fairly violently and keep me there). Well thats all that I can really come up with. On a side note, I would like to tune it with a mega squirt. another friend has one on his 95 turbo dodge neon and said he'd help me with it. The software seems pretty intuitive and I read a good write up on the process of modifying it for the FC.
