Greetings from SoCal
Hi all, I'm Julius from Los Angeles. I bought a 93 Vintage Red FD R1 in January 2015 from its original owner, who had kept the car in near immaculate condition and put just shy of 180,000 miles (!) on the original motor. Imagine my disappointment when the car blew a rotting coolant hose and started to overheat about 30 miles from where I bought it. That little incident sealed the fate of one of the coolant o-rings, and I had to put the car down for a time. The information I found browsing this forum served as an absolutely invaluable resource as I took the engine bay apart and reassembled it with a freshly built motor. Now the car lives again, and it's been a blast tearing it up at our local SCCA autocrosses. Thanks to everyone for building such a wealth of information, and I hope I can do my part to continue adding to that tradition.
This is how she sat the day I picked her up. Externally pretty much stock except for the 99 spec front lip.
This is how she looks now, on Ohlins DFVs, sitting pretty after a climb up the local twisties.
