Getting started on a JDM swap, hey all!
My name is Collier Farnell, and I am not new to this forum but I am new to this forum! I have been browsing in the shadows like a ninja, learning all that I could to educate myself, but I decided to finally surface and become part of the group!
First off, I drive a 2004 RX8 with a 4speed (here it goes... ._.) automatic that I use as my daily driver. It's a pretty awesome car even though it doesn't burn rubber, much less get the tires even hot, lol..
As my project I have begun starting on earlier this year, I have the body of a 1986 RX7 with a 5speed that I plan to do a JDM swap on! I have managed to get the engine out which still runs, but just shoots out black smoke like a mohfoh. It has 250k miles on it and needs some TLC with the interior, but came with a Momo shifter, Bride steering wheel, rear bins, powdered and ported manifolds and JDM taillights (which arent installed yet).
As for the engine my car will cannibalize, I recently acquired (from the same friend that sold me the body!) a 1991 JDM Turbo II clip! It has 75k miles on the engine and has been a helluvah job to remove! And I just got this 2 days ago! Imagine my excitement!!! It's been sitting behind my friends shop for 5+ years so the engine definitely needs to be rebuilt. So many creatures living inside it hahaha.
Anyways, I have so many questions to ask and info to provide, excited to get involved in this wonderful community, and hope to make some new friends on here that are rotor heads like me!
And also, THANK YOU AARON CAKE! For all the videos you have posted on rotary dis assembly and rebuild, without them I would still be in the dark on many things! As I've stated previously, been browsing these forums for a while and have learned so much already!
... *falls over, catching breath*
